Has anyone managed to get their hands in some legitimate crest 3D whitening strips in the U.K.? If so, where did you buy them? There seem to be a lot of fakes out there.

Wouldn’t bother I used to use them and whilst they made my teeth beautiful and white they caused horrible side effects I wish I’d gone to get them done professionally at the dentist

They're illegal in the UK as they contain too much hydrogen peroxide which can cause sensitivity and if left on too long can cause chemical burns to your mouth. This article contains a link to a dentist that will do prescriptions for the strongest that are legal in the uk. www.thelist.com/206053/the-real-reason-why-crest-whitestrips-are-banned-in-the-uk/

Don't do it! I still have sensitive teeth years after using them

You can get them from UK Teeth Whitening. I’ve had no problems with them but only use them for 7-10 days a time. Plus only for 30 minutes. So as per the instructions, follow the instructions and you should be fine.

I have had in-chair whitening (Zoom) by my dentist so I use these as a top up as it’s less expensive and less fiddly than using trays.

Also meant to say these strips will not compensate for poor oral hygiene and inadequate dental care. I wouldn’t use them if my teeth and gums weren’t in good condition before hand so regular dentist and hygiene visits are necessary first imo.

I use this for 7-8 mins once a month, it's fab. It should come with trays. 6% peroxide.

I've used them before and they were fine although my teeth were very sensitive for a few days after.

My teeth go very clean and white after a visit to the dental hygienist so I'd try that first

I am looking for a bit of advice from people that bought Crest whitestrips from UK Teeth Whitening.
I bought "Crest 3D Professional Effects Whitestrips LUXE" ,I am on day 5 but so far I am not noticing any major difference.
The reviews on their website are mixed,if you bought from them before and had good results...can you specify which product you have used? there are so many varieties of Crest strips! Also, how many days after starting using them have you noticed a difference?
My teeth are just slightly sensitive after using the strips,I use them as recommended for 30 minutes and I use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth.

I got some from eBay years ago. Caused so much sensitivity pain for a day or so, I test wouldn't bother if I were you.

psuedocream3 · 10/01/2022 11:40

I would expect they are fake, you cannot buy products with over 0.1% legally in the UK unless it's through a licensed dentist.

Teeth whitening from my dentist was £140 or thereabouts for the custome trays and gel, then further tubes to top up was £60 for a course. I would say just visit the dentist and getthe real thing, who knows what else is mixed into the fakes online.

Thanks all. I have been thoroughly put off. I think I'll be looking into the dentist option instead...
