Curling fine hair - tongs?

I love my mid length brown hair finally after finding a colourist.

I've tried and failed with heated rollers (too heavy for hair), wand (too slippy), ghds( need too much coordination) and a triple barrel waver (too fierce hot for delicate hair) .

Love my revlon one step and use it daily, but I'd love a bit more curl/ body-wave than smooth volume.

Also the curls from GHDS tend to tangle and get knotty very quickly.

Help! Would a large barrel tong help! I'm thinking a few large sections all round rather than lots of small sections ?

The large barrelled ghd tong is great - takes a few minutes to do my whole head. Gives smooth waves or curls. I’ve tried loads of other tools over the years but this is the best for my mid length middle aged hair.

I bought the L'Oreal Steam Pod 6 months ago and absolutely love it. I have very fine coloured hair too OP. It leaves my hair looking really shiny and healthy and I don't get any of the dryness that would occur with wands or tongs. I'm honestly useless with hair styling stuff but it's so easy to use and the curls last a couple of days.
