Anyone else in this?

About six years ago I got rid of every single pair of heels and I don't miss them.

Some heels are beautiful for sure but when I see people in heels it feels so strange now (how do you walk? You can't run? Etc)

I quite liked this blog initially but got a bit bored of the sell sell sell when she broadened out from just flats.

I found the transition to barefoot shoes ok, but I’ve always mostly worn flat shoes, I think it’s harder for people who are used to a bit of a heel. I was surprised by how much my feet have spread since I switched! I did buy some toe spreaders and little toe resistance band things when I bought my Earthrunners which have really helped my big toe stop curving in (it wasn’t proper bunions, but just not the natural shape).

That EnBrogue blog gave me the confidence to ditch heels about 12 years ago. I haven't owned or worn a single pair of heels in all that time and never will again. I adore my boots and trainers. I love walking and absolutely hate being uncomfortable so it's a win win. I still love the look of heels on other women. I wanted to be Carrie Bradshaw myself, and tried every type of heel in my 20s trying to achieve this but they always hurt. Always. So sod that

I agree the EnBrogue IG account is nothing like as good as it used to be

@madamceladon

Quite interested in the barefoot vivo people.

I had plantar fasciitis a couple years back and it was awful I thought it would never go away.
I was looking into the barefoot stuff and thinking my posture is bad.

Was it a difficult transition to those from "Normal" shoes?

I didn't find it difficult, and for a few years I alternated between "normal" shoes and barefoot shoes. Have been wearing bf shoes only for about 3-4 years now. It's more difficult to wear "normal" shoes now after I'm used to the wider fit and flexible soles.

I'm much more aware of fit now, for example I had never actually measured my feet before, I just bought the same size I'd bought for years. I then got one of these foot measurers and it's really helpful when buying shoes online as I can look at the size charts and see the accurate length. www.happylittlesoles.co.uk/foot-measurer.html

Happy Little Soles is a good place to buy barefoot shoes especially now after Brexit (a lot of the brands I like are from the EU and customs fees make them very expensive otherwise). I treated myself to these boots (pictured) before Christmas and I'm absolutely in love with them. Grin
