Does anyone take these? I've been seeing a few different powers and gummies advertised and keen to have ago.

Anyone rates there's and would recommend them ?

I've read they don't do anything as your body can't absorb collagen through consumption. Do you have a source with a positive study?

Cassandra bankson has a good section on this.

I’ve done 30 days of the Gold Forte Plus - I feel like it has made a big difference to my hair and I look less tired - I am intending to continue for at least another 30 days.

I agree with @doadeer, no hard science on wrinkle reduction, some success with joint pain but the body cares about joints, it doesn’t give a shiny one about wrinkles.

Also collagen peptides can’t be absorbed as they are, peptide chains have to be broken down into amino acids. Lastly 9g of collagen is less protein than eating a boiled egg every day and at least the egg has micro nutrients in it too.

Thank you I didn't have a brand in mind just seen a few drink ones and tablet ones advertised and wondered if anyone actually uses them and finds they make a difference, I wanted real reviews before I committed to buying anything

I take powder. Can’t honestly say my face looks better but my dodgy knee is less dodgy…

bigswall · 28/12/2021 00:04

Im about to start the collegen drink so will report back. however my skin likes elemis pro collogen range

RedSquirrel111 · 28/12/2021 00:07

I took them quite diligently for about 6 months. Highest strength I could find.
Had better results with a vitamin tablet.

I know someone involved in the marketing for the best known brand and they said it’s all rubbish.

You’re better off with the gelatine in a bag of Haribos. I don’t know if you’re old enough to remember but we were often given a cube of jelly (Rowntrees jelly) in the 70s as it was supposed to be good for hair, teeth, nails and bones.

Exactly! Collagen is just a type of protein. If it is good for selective parts of our body (and not sure any evidence for this), may as well eat some Haribo or cheap sausages! More likely that good quality protein is beneficial, eg: organic free range egg/meat/fish/pulses/dairy

I have read lots of different stuff and it seems inconclusive.

I take liquid stuff in my fizzy water without much expectation. My nails are incredibly strong now. But may well be a coincidence.

HundredMilesAnHour · 28/12/2021 20:27

I took Absolute Collagen for 6 months. Made no difference at all. Sad

@Zooforhouse

Which powder do you use? I have a dodgy knee!
