Coach bags

I really fancy a nice bag at some point in the future, something well made and simple. I’m not hugely ‘into’ bags, my dream was the Mulberry Alexa for years but as I will probably never be able to justify one it will have to remain a dream!
I’m currently existing in changing bag chaos of two small kids but would love something that’s just for me and my essentials and not sharing space with nappies, wet wipes etc! I’ve seen the Coach Kira cross body which looks lovely and comes in at £175 via John Lewis which is more my budget for something luxury, does anyone have experience of it? Are they worth the money?

Hi,I have it in navy blue. It is a nice and compact little bag which fits the essentials (card holder, keys, phone). I would say that it is definitely worth the money. Keep an eye on JL as it could go on sale.

Palavah · 23/12/2021 23:22

I'd wager they'll be reduced in the Boxing Day/Jan sales.

Pinkstegosaurus · 23/12/2021 23:40

Oh for sure! I’m not doing anything in a hurry, I was thinking more for next year. I have a John Lewis voucher for £50 which definitely makes buying one there easier! Is it sturdy enough for everyday use? Or is it more of a special occasion bag?

Thank you for opinions too :)

I have a Coach bag (the Prairie). It’s good quality and definitely sturdy enough for everyday use. They quite often do 50% off sales, which JLP will price match.

katienana · 24/12/2021 07:52

I have a Coach bag, it's the nicest bag I've ever had. I don't use it for dog walking but I'm happy to use it for shopping trips and general daytime use. It's nice but not so fancy I'm afraid to use it.

ToykotoLosAngeles · 24/12/2021 07:59

Really really worth the money. My Scout hobo is 4 years old (£150 in a sale) and still perfect condition, including all the hardware.

Pinkstegosaurus · 24/12/2021 08:00

@princessbear80 I really like that shape! And it’s £150 on their website at the moment 🤦‍♀️😂

I have a selection of Coach bags some are 10 or more years old and still in excellent condition

purpledagger · 24/12/2021 08:27

My scout hobo fell apart after 2 years. The leather loop on the bag that holds the strap snapped and then the hardware clip broke.
Otherwise, the bag was in beautiful condition and looked as new.

Throughabushbackwards · 24/12/2021 08:38

I love my coach Prairie satchel. I use it every day, the leather is absolutely beautiful.

Pinkstegosaurus · 24/12/2021 08:40

Generally positive reviews then, thank you! It is firmly on my wish list although may be upstaged by the prairie bag which I now also really like and is a bit roomier 🤦‍♀️

I have a couple of Coach bags ( one is a turnlock hobo) both bought in sales. I love them, so well made and use them both a lot. They look great and I've had them about 6 years using a couple of times a week.
They're definitely on my list for when I next need a bag.

NeedWineNow · 24/12/2021 11:07

I've got the Prairie satchel in navy and another Coach bag that I bought in the sale earlier this year. My purse is also Coach. I love them, well made and reasonably priced. I'm keeping an eye on the sale as I've set my heart on a dark green bag - not particularly fussed about shape - so am waiting to see what they've got.

BurbageBrook · 24/12/2021 11:37

Coach bags are great but definitely wait for January sales, they are often hugely discounted.

I like the idea of navy and the Kira bag I’m loving comes in a beautiful dark green 😊

I’ve got lots of coach bags and agree, they are good quality and last really well. They are smart without being so expensive you’re afraid to use them.

forcedfun · 24/12/2021 12:30

I have a coach cross body and it still looks perfect after a year of daily use. Really pleased with it!

othgraph · 24/12/2021 13:03

I have the Coach sutton cross body and it's great for me as someone who isn't really into bags. I got mine with a discount but doesn't look like they make them any more.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 24/12/2021 13:24

I like coach but have never actually bought one as each time I’ve been swayed towards Kate Spade (which I adore) or Tory Burch. Good bags without mulberry price.

Westerman · 24/12/2021 20:53

I love my Coach bags. They're good quality and always look great. I'm after s new crossbody bag so might have a look at the Kira.

Yes I love it and roomy enough for essentials plus an umbrella in winter 👍🏼
