I've had a disastrous experience with my eyelashes! I had them lifted/tinted for Christmas and they look bloody dreadful! I had it done for a special occasion back in the summer with the same beautician, and they were fine, so thought it'd just be the same. This time though it looks like she's electrocuted a couple of spiders and stuck them on with all their legs in the air! Looks terrible and feels really irritating, and nothing I do will tame them. It's reminding me horribly of the time I had an important interview so went to a salon to get my makeup done professionally. The therapist didn't really speak any English and despite me stressing how natural I wanted it to look I ended up being charged £80 to look like a transvestite clown. Blush Thank God there was time to nip across to the chemist and buy a pack of makeup removing wipes and scrub it all off before the interview!

Please help Mumsnet - either share your miracle cure for fixing dead-spider eyelashes or at least tell me your beauty related horror stories and make me feel better!

When did you have it done? You're not supposed to get them wet for 24h so if it's in that time frame you could wet them?

Have you spoken to the beautician?

@LyraSilvertongueBelacqua This time yesterday. I keep scrubbing at them with wet eye makeup remover pads but all that's doing is making my eyelashes fall out. No I didn't talk to the therapist. Too embarrassed!

Sounds like she’s over processed them.

Get in touch with her, send her photos if you have to, and ask her to provide you with some lash conditioning serum or castor oil.

I think I'd definitely get back in touch and send some photos and see what she can do to help!

Your eyelashes are there to keep stuff out of your eyes. They are telling you to leave them alone in future

once had my eyebrows tinted - it was horrific, they were really dark (usually blond) & I looked like a clown. One & only time ever

Try castor oil or serum and heated eyelash curlers to force them into shape then fix with industrial strength mascara in brown or grey to tone the darkness down.
