Eyebrow tint is too dark

Had my lashes and brows done today and the brows have come out very dark - I’m a redhead with pale complexion so can’t get away with this. Anyone have any tips on how to tone them down before Christmas photos are taken!

They look absolutely fine to me!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/12/2021 20:06

Eyebrow tint does fade very quickly. 3-4 days and it will fade a lot and settle down. Nothing you can do really. Scrubbing at them will only make your skin red and sore.

Goodbyemylover · 21/12/2021 20:07

Always happens to me too! They fade a lot quickly with washing - don't panic!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/12/2021 20:08

Did you have them shaped as well? They might be better if they were more even. Honestly don’t panic, the tint does fade super fast.

nicesausages · 21/12/2021 20:08

Looks fine to me
Maybe they're just a lot darker than what you had before therefore a bit of a surprise
But they're totally in keeping with your colouring

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 21/12/2021 20:08

Wash them with Head & Shoulders. But they should lighten a bit in a few days anyway.

Cloudbaser · 21/12/2021 20:08

Totally fine - dye will have stained the skin at bit too. Bet they look lighter tomorrow ( top tip smoothering with moisturiser lifts the tint off skin more quickly) but even if they don't they are nice. Dont stress.

Shmithecat2 · 21/12/2021 20:09

I think they look OK, but if you want to lighten them up a little, oil or even glycolic acid if you have any will lighten them a bit.

TrufflyPig · 21/12/2021 20:09

Fellow redhead here, this happened to me not so long ago. It faded after two days, think the darkness was due to tint still being on my skin underneath.

I did tone it down with a bit of powder foundation. Yours look way better than mine did though so I don't think you've too much to worry about.

Divebar2021 · 21/12/2021 20:09

I feel your pain… I was blonde and got very dark brows. I phoned another beauty therapist who said there was nothing they could do. Part of it is the adjustment from the paleness… I don’t think they look as bad as you think they do. I doubt I’d even notice them if you hadn’t pointed it out.

Katrinawaves · 21/12/2021 20:10

I did have them shaped too Dobby. The shape looked fine before the tint went on though I agree they now look a little wonky! I shall keep my finger crossed that the tint fades a little over the next few days.

They should have tinted before shaping. Then you can balance the eyebrows afterwards because the tint picks up light hairs you don’t usually see. Shaking and then tinting is a dangerous road to go. A brave or foolhardy therapist.

Eeek. Don’t panic. They will fade. Unfortunately fading is part of the process. Sometimes clients are unhappy that the tint fades because they wanted that darker look.

FlamesEmbersAshes · 21/12/2021 20:14

I’m blonde and have brows that are naturally much darker than my hair colour (they look almost black). I look fine and so do you!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/12/2021 20:15

Obviously autocorrect is out again. Shaping, not shaking eyebrows. That would give a very different outcome!

polkadotpjs · 21/12/2021 20:16

They look fine to me but I have been there and have the same colouring. I think a little deep cleanse will get it off the skin and they will fade and you'll adjust over the next couple of days too. Fret not

IamGusFring · 21/12/2021 20:18

I think you are worrying too much about this . They look fine to me .

StucklnAChimneyCantGetOutOflt · 21/12/2021 20:20

From the perspective of a stranger seeing them for the first time, you look lovely OP... but in my younger days I felt like this too, so I do get it, they will fade but in the meantime style it out with mascared eyelashes.

ponkydonkey · 21/12/2021 20:22

Ex beauty therapist here
When you wash your face tomorrow they will fade!
They'll be fine don't worry

userxx · 21/12/2021 20:24

I once put far too many products on my brows trying to lighten them up after being tinted, I ended up with burnt eyebrow skin, red, flakey and a hell of a lot worse than slightly-too-dark brows.

NC6789012 · 21/12/2021 20:26

Brows are sisters not twins. Nobody's brows are identical

Oblomov21 · 21/12/2021 20:27

Wash them tonight, with a shower gel or shampoo. It takes a lot out of it.

MrsSugar · 21/12/2021 20:29

Oh I’ve been there !! I got my brows quickly tinted before a wedding reception and looked like Eddie Munster 🙁
Give them a good scrub with Any anti dandruff shampoo or just shampoo in general if u haven’t got that. They will die down quickly but good news is with a full face of make up no one will look twice at them xx

EezyOozy · 21/12/2021 20:32

Toothbrush with a bit of shampoo on, gently . Your skin will have some on which will come off soon and will lighten the look.

onlyconnect · 21/12/2021 21:02

I'm a very similar colouring to you and always feel my tint is too dark. It's fine within a couple of days though.
