From Plum to Prune Almost Overnight

Menopause seems to be sucking the moisture from my face. My skin is very suddenly so so dry and under my eyes is lined and dried out.
It's happened in the space of less than a month.

Normally use Cerave under eye and the extra rich moisturiser but they are not working and my face feels sore and dry by lunchtime.

Anyone able to recommend a new under eye and moisturiser for my poor prune face?

Sorry no help, but following for suggestions...
Same here OP, also suddenly, only mine seems to have gone really dry everywhere on my face except my chin, which is getting spots like when I was a teenager Angry.

Same! My eyes have ‘gone’ in the last couple of months. Lined and crepey. I’m mid 40s and was looking fairly good on it until now.

Yes, I've had the spotty chin too. I started HRT six weeks ago and had hoped it would help. Just feel like I'm need to sit face down in a pool of Vaseline.

I'm using Nivea in the blue pot as a night cream and Aldi caviar day cream atm. I think I need something with more 'active ingredients' than the nivea. I'm a bit clueless about skincare though. I'm 50 and hadn't really had much in the way of meno symptoms so far, but have suddenly gone from totally regular periods to skipping one altogether, and the skin thing. Oh and waking up at stupid o'clock. Hmm

I just got this which is very rich and gives an immediate result

Eye mask

Squalane.

WhatScratch · 20/12/2021 12:23

If you want to try a vitamin C eye product Boots do a £4 gel that’s buy one get one free with their other products in their vitamin C range at the moment. A squalane cream over my moisturiser to ‘lock it in’ and a vitamin c serum once a day has definitely helped my skin.

Squalane
Vitamin C

Those are my weapons of choice. My eyes tolerate the same stuff I use on the rest of my face. Drunk Elephant do a vitamin c eye product.

The Inkey List, The Ordinary and Boots all do their own stuff so you can see if it works for you/doesn’t make your skin react without splashing out £££.

TheWeeDonkey · 20/12/2021 22:39

For the people who use Vitamin C do you need to use sun screen too?

Luredbyapomegranate · 20/12/2021 22:48

Bobbi brown extra eye cream Is the business for dryness

I have eczema and my eye skin can resemble a tortoise without attention. It’s way better than kiehl’s avocado which everyone wangs on about

WhatScratch · 20/12/2021 22:54

Yes. Also, don’t use vitamin C with retinol - morning for vitamin C and evening for retinol is ok.
