I have always hated my breasts. They're too big. They've always been too big. I have narrow shoulders and hips and these giant stupid boobs.

I'm 51 now and seriously thinking of going to turkey and getting them reduced

If I could snap my fingers it would have happened already but I'm thinking these are the thoughts of a vain and silly middle aged woman

Thoughts, Mumsnet ?

I'm 57 and booked for May. We've hopefully got a lot of life ahead of us and I don't want to be 70 and tucking my double G's into my knickers. Go for it.

SoSickOfItNow · 18/12/2021 20:36

Do you want to spend the next, possibly, 45 years hating them?

Imagine spending the next 45 years with them smaller, the different way you’d dress, the different way you’d speak to yourself after you look at yourself in the mirror, the different way you’d feel in yourself.

DDMAC · 18/12/2021 20:40

Do it, I’m sure you won’t regret it

IamGusFring · 18/12/2021 21:09

Do it but not in Turkey .

Movedout · 18/12/2021 21:23

There's a really good Facebook group called 'uk breast reduction', it will hopefully inspire you. Some people have had very positive experiences with surgery in Turkey. Personally I'm going local but there are lots of options.

ChiBox · 18/12/2021 21:30

Do your research on Turkey, Ive had two ops in Turkey and had a very good experience.

LunaTheCat · 18/12/2021 21:36

Go for it!

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/12/2021 21:37

I’d do it but not abroad.

BlingLoving · 18/12/2021 22:28

Do it. I did mine years and years ago so a different situation but you are not old. More than ever you want to feel good about yourself.

gunnersgold · 18/12/2021 22:43

Why not do it here ? Finance is standard in the uk for plastic surgeons now.

GarnishedOwl · 18/12/2021 23:28

I had my breasts reduced for the 2nd time 3 months ago. And I was 49 - since turned 50. Had them done for the first time when I was 30 and thought my family was complete but another baby and the associated weight gain and loss etc, led to them growing back!

Don't have surgery abroad though. It's largely unregulated and it's not a good idea. It's also really unwise right now anyway

UserBot314 · 18/12/2021 23:44

Do it. I got braces at 45 so I have your back!

UserBot314 · 18/12/2021 23:51

I agree with the others, spend a bit more to get it done where you live.

I could have gone somewhere cheaper for my orthodontics no doubt but I wanted to be near a reputable orthodontist who I could get to easily. So glad I did too. Wires break. Buckles fall off. Retainers get mislaid. These aren't issues to do with a breast reduction I realise Grin but I can only tell you how relieved I was to have stayed local

hivemindneeded · 18/12/2021 23:51

It makes sense to do it now. Think of the reduction in back pain as you get older!

Craftycorvid · 19/12/2021 00:22

It’s absolutely never too late to do something about a problem that’s making you uncomfortable and unhappy. Very large breasts can cause back pain and, frankly, if chaps had to cart their scrotum and balls around on their chests, there would be far more investment in making it comfortable! Do some careful research first but you are absolutely not being ‘vain’ and if you were invested in looking good, that’s hardly a crime.

Grumpyosaurus · 19/12/2021 00:57

Yes, there is a point. You'll take immense pressure off your back as you age.

SunscreenCentral · 19/12/2021 21:23

Thank you for all the lovely supportive messages! They have really cheered me up.

I've decided that I'll start saving, and researching.
I'm 34GG and they absolutely ruin every top, dress and jumper. It's very difficult to look elegant with 80's style Page 3 knockers 😩
