Semi permanent make up

I'm a very minimal make up kind of person and am considering a lash enhancement, which appears to mean semi permanent, subtle eyeliner.

What's involved? Is it a tattoo, I.e. needles? Eek!

What does semi permanent mean, how long does it last?

I've had semi permanent make up (in my 20s, now in my 30s)

It's pretty much faded now, it was fine, but I personally wouldn't do it again, I had it done to help my friend qualify in it.

It is a tattoo, the needle is tiny, they apply numbing cream, it's not for the faint hearted having a tattoo right next to your eyes, and they will puff up a bit.

It's not like normal tattoos but it takes a while, and I think I had to go back and have a top up.

I had a very subtle brown lash line done ( not Amy Winehouse winged liner, which was the trend at the time)

Really depends on what you are looking for in terms of lifestyle/results etc.
