So dumb. Broken nail. Leaving house in 30 mins. Help!

I know women get made fun off when they break a nail, but it really fucking hurts!

I've got long natural nails and the thumb has broken off slightly, right at the part where the skin starts. I cant just cut it all off because it's too far down and will be sore. It's broken on the side so I'm bound to catch it constantly. I'm leaving the house in 30 mins to catch a train and need a quick fix beyond a plaster - all I have that I think can help is a nail file and sellotape! Any quick fixes that doesnt involve me filing down the entire nail? The unevenness will bug the life out of me.

Is it still attached? Do you have some clear nail polish? Do you have some teabags? Try putting some clear polish on, then a strip of teabag paper, then layer more clear on top. Not ideal but has helped me in that situation.

Still attached but only partially broken off, as in a couple of millimetres. I've been filing the snuggly bit but then it breaks another mm or so per day.
Ooh will try that thank you. I've also found some nail hardener polish, is that any good?

I know it's too late for today but you want the Orly broken nail repair kit off Amazon. It's basically dip in powder (so if you have that it'll do the trick) - so you brush the glue on your nail and dip on the powder, then do it again and file the top. It forms a thin layer of plastic over the nail. It'll be a different colour to nature so you'll probably want to paint your nails but it doesn't look too bad if you just want to save the nail!

(that meant it doesn't look too bad not painted. Painted you can't really tell there's anything different)

You've left now but I would have suggested the teabag and clear polish too... Hope you got sorted.
