Can't get tag off my Radley bag

Treated myself to a Radley bag in TK Maxx today. I didn't buy it for the label but because it was exactly what I was looking for. I want to take the swingy dog tag off but I can't thread it through. Do you think it could be a fake? I thought you were meant to take them off?

Can't you just cut it then pull it through?

I doubt tk maxx would risk selling fake goods

most people DON'T take them off, they are part of the " look"

I’ve just bought a bag directly from Radley and I cannot take it off either, I would need to cut as others have suggested

I thought keeping the tag on was a bit like not removing tailor tacks from jackets . I'll perhaps open the hole it is threaded through a little to release it. I don't want to just cut it off because it seems wasteful although god knows what I think I'm going to do with it.
