I've never been into fashion. My wardrobe is old and rubbish! I'm 30s, 5ft size 8/10!and live in jeans and woolly jumpers.

I want to reinvent myself but struggle with being petite.

Any brands to look at or links to items would be smashing.

Your style might be jeans and a jumper though.

Maybe have a look at some different styles of jeans and then work out the right jumper to suit . For example I’m finding that now I’m wearing high rise jeans with a bit more width to them that a neater shorter jumper works better.

What type of clothes are going to work with your lifestyle? Do you need clothes for the office? Clothes for going out? Clothes for walking the dog? Clothes for the school run?

Missguided do some nice petite items,
They ALWAYS have a code on their site to get money off too so it usually works out fairly cheap

M&S are good - quite a few of their styles are available in petite sizes. They’ve really upped their game in the past year or so.

I seem ok for work, I have some boden dresses which I wear. I can do fairly smart but it's more the stylish casual weekend style I'm no good at.

I do think I need to rethink my jean style. Mom jeans don't seem to work for me.

Ultimately I feel most comfortable in jeans and a jumper but I look like a bit of a frump and have some fairly stylish mum friends who are beautifully tall and work in fashion Blush

There are lots of options out there for petites but it would help to know more about your lifestyle, budget etc. Whose style or what sort of looks do you admire? Do you want to upgrade your jeans and jumpers to something fresher or more flattering, or are you looking for a whole new style?

I'm happy to spend a decent amount on good quality items.

I often imagine myself in floaty slightly hippy dresses but they're always below the knee which doesn't suit my height.

I like the look of toast jumpers and might consider getting one if they have a sale (almost £200 is pushing it a little).

I like corduroy but haven't yet found a trouser to suit my shape.

I’m slightly taller (5ft2) and I like slim, straight leg and cropped flare jeans (depending on footwear).´ I find that lots of brands do cropped or 7/8 styles at the moment that are ankle length on me - mine are from Other stories and Rouje. Levi’s 501s are classic straight leg style and come in 28, 26 inch leg. Asos do a decent petite range.

In terms of knitwear there are loads of cropped sweaters and cardigans around at the moment that are perfect waist length for petites. I tuck more fitted tops in looser mom jeans or wear something slightly slouchy (but not too oversize) with slim/straight leg jeans so I don’t look like I’m drowning in fabric.
