Losing the will here.
I want to get 10 - nearly 11 - year old DD something to wear on Christmas Day and to the panto, but finding that things from Boden, John Lewis, M&S etc are too young, and H&M, River Island, Primark etc too old.

She’s not really into dresses or patterns, pink etc anymore - would wear a grey hoodie and blue denim jeggings everyday if she could 😱 - it’s such a tricky age! Anyone seen or bought anything lovely recently?
Anything I find online remotely nice seems to be sold out.

H&M or the candy couture/teen range in matalan

We were Abercrombie & Fitch (sales), Gap, and Espirit at that stage I think. Just be careful with A&F as I think you have to pay quite a lot to return items if you don’t live near a shop. I sometimes got them via Next to avoid this problem, if I wasn’t sure of the sizing.

M&S boys range is getting us through this stage. Lots of plain navy, grey and green. John Lewis have some nice boys shirts for weddings/occasions which have gotten us through a "smart" occasion with a cord jacket, pair of nice jeans and some brogues. No trims, frills or any fabrics that are not Cotton/wool or similar.
She is now (just) tall enough for some Joules size 6 womens jumpers which is nice as they have some quirky stuff which is not childish but age appropriate/acceptable as it's for adult women.
She's basically channeling early entry to the military or a lifelong chic Parisian look. It remains to be seen. 😂

Same here. Day to day it's mostly jeans and tops (petit bateau, Polarn o Pyret, others from alexandalexa sale). I've seen - and bought - a lot of Sonia Rykiel at tkmaxx this year. Much more on trend and excellent quality.

I just go with the leggings and hoodie rather than wasting money on something she won’t wear!
