Foundation flashback woes

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a foundation which had medium coverage, natural finish and comes in a cool ivory shade? I was out at the weekend and in every single one of the pics I have a big white moon face. It's really taken the shine off the party, which was for my 50th. I had on double wear. I've used it for a while, but not been photographed so not seen the problem. Drug store or high street recommended would be great if anyone can help. ☹️

I like Bobbi Briwn serum foundation.

I got this recently and it's gorgeous. Really buildable, lovely finish,
Not sure about shades because I got it in light/medium and I'm more of a rosey light shade but it does come in very light I believe.

Double Wear is notorious for flashback. No 7's Hydraluminous foundation might fit the bill for you.

Don't use a foundation with SPF, thats what causes the flashback. And double wear is THE worst for it.

I’m a Make up Artist and my go to’s - especially for brides are Armani luminous silk or Nars sheer glow. Both are medium coverage but also buildable and also photograph beautifully.

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 14/12/2021 13:52

Armani luminous silk looks brilliant in photos. Although I dont wear it day to day as its too heavy for me, I prefer bare minerals complexion rescue as its lighter my skin likes it more and glowy/dewy too. But for special occasions and photos you can beat the Armani one.

SummaLuvin · 14/12/2021 14:08

Nars Sheer Glow was my first thought. Confusing name - it is neither especially glowy or sheer, I believe the name is because the glow which it gives is sheer.

As PP mentioned SPF built in can often be the cause of flashbacks so check for this in products.

The problem is that something that looks good in photos is probably going to look 'too much' for day to day wear.

Unless you're permanently posting selfies or getting papped whilst out, then just wear make up for the day to day.

SuperSange · 14/12/2021 15:46

Ah, I didn't know about the suncreen causing flashback. I'll look out for that. It wouldn't have mattered for day-to-day wear, it was just the flash on the photos, as I said, so I'm not sure what you mean @Thegreencup about being regularly papped, or taking selfies-I just don't want to look super bright at the next party i go to. Hmm

And many thanks for the advice and recommendations-I'll take a look at those for next time! I must have just got away with it before by coincidentally not using a foundation with SPF. There's always something, isn't there!
