Temporary hair dye

Dc want to die their hair blue/ purple over the holidays, they have fairy dark brown hair and I don't want to lighten it. Ideally something which won't stain clothes/ sheets once dried and which will come out for school. Any recommendations?

I'd give something like these a go first

Unfortunately for both their hair is really short so wanting a dye to colour their own hair but thank you for the suggestion.

Hair chalks and coloured waxes may work even on darker hair. If you moisten the hair first the hair chalks are more intense in colour
