What tights to wear with this dress?

I haven’t worn a dress in 10 years and even then, I’ve only worn one if I had to!

I ordered a dress yesterday, which is perfect in every way, apart from the length. I assumed the model was tall and being 5’4”, thought it would come well below the knee, but it is exactly the length on the photo. I hate my legs, but I would never go out in public with my knees on show as they’re awful! I would like to keep the dress, as it looks nice on me and is the perfect shape, but I don’t know what to wear with it. I would prefer black tights and planning on wearing black ankle boots with a chunky heel, but the boots themselves aren’t chunky. I have a black faux fur coat which I’d also like to wear, but not sure if it would look odd with this dress.

Would you wear black tights with this dress and if so, what denier?

Any black tights fine! I only wear thick ones, like 80/100 Denier. Would wear with this and boots
