I've been trying to find a jumper dress I like but to no avail... has anyone come across one that fits the following criteria?

  • natural fibres (or at least mostly natural!) - preferably wool
  • neutral colour (black/charcoal/cream) OR dark/jewel tone (eg deep red, bottle green, navy or dark blue)
  • under £150 (or not too far over)
  • mini length
  • fairly plain/classic (i.e. no massive puff sleeves, frilly cuffs, visible zips, etc)

It seems surprisingly hard to find anything!

Have you tried the Celtic Company?

onlyconnect · 13/12/2021 16:50

I mean Celtic and Co

Good shout, thank you! I hadn't thought of that - will check them out...

Boden?

Peppercorn9 · 13/12/2021 20:03

Thanks - Boden’s out for me I’m afraid, on account of the whole fox-hunting thing

Have you tried Uniqlo? I ordered this in charcoal and a rust sort of colour www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-3d-knit-seamless-lambswool-blend-balloon-sleeved-dress-432332.html

Looks like they might only have black or cream left though

stringbean · 13/12/2021 20:36

Probably not what you're looking for, but I love this from Cos and it's 100% wool

Or this one?

Squiz81 · 13/12/2021 22:13

Have you tried Eribe?

I've got a couple of plain jumper dresses from Esprit. Lovely and soft, good neutral colours and no frilly bits!

These are great suggestions, thank you everyone! I think I’m going to pick a couple to order and see what they’re like IRL. I’m definitely leaning towards the pure wool ones, so thinking maybe Celtic&Co, the Whistles one and possibly Cos (although I’m not quite sure I can pull off Cos as an hourglass… worth a try though!)

@Squiz81 I hadn’t heard of Eribe but oh my goodness they have some gorgeous things! Will definitely have a proper look at them too 👍

The white company have a lovely one that's £129 in beige .

Zooforhouse · 14/12/2021 19:50

Seasalt have jewel coloured ones. Depends what style you are after but I love the heartfelt dress-just bought it in green.

This looks so gorgeous. Is it itchy at all? I am reaaaally fussy about itching. But so tempted..

HenriettaTriceratops · 14/12/2021 22:39

I got by a lovely one from the Tu clothing range at Saibsbury's. Dark red, beautifully soft and a good length. Only £20 too, but it doesn't look or feel cheap.

bendmeoverbackwards · 14/12/2021 22:46

@YouSetTheTone I’ve not tried it on but probably worth a try?
