Help! Is my dress too short?

I have a posh event to go to next week and ordered several long dresses to try on. 3 out of 4 are no good and I love the 4th one but it hangs about 2/3 inches off the floor when I have my heels on, will this look ridiculous?! I am tall (5'9") and am struggling to get any that are actually floor length on me!

The dress has a big slit up the front so from the front it doesn't look too bad but will I look ridiculous from the back if the dress is off the floor?

Tbh, on the face of it though, it sounds fine to me.

Sounds absolutely fine to me.

It’s difficult without pictures, but l would suggest better a little short than to put your foot through the hem, making a hole. Been there, done that, got the (very embarrassing) T shirt.

Actually touching the floor looks nice in a photo, but if you can’t walk in it without tripping you’ll spend all night holding it up with one hand anyway.
