Long socks help

I need some over-knee socks to wear with knee boots (as in I'd like them to be long enough to be visible with knee boots). Ideally a chunky or ribbed knit. Am open to patterns like Fair Isle as well as solid colours. I'm a size 42/8, so some women's 'one-size' socks don't fit me, so I'm up for men's ones too.
I have some Elle socks that fit this bill, bought ages ago, but can't find them for sale any more.
Budget is not that high –I've seen some nice ones for £25 etc but that's a bit beyond me as I'd like several pairs.

Tried that before and unfortunately they tend to ruck up when I put my boots on!

How about the ones that have a little cut out bit for the heel - stirrup leg warmers? They might work? I'm thinking that way the size wouldn't be an issue.
