Marks and Spencer gift card to spend

Hi all. I have received a very generous £50 M&S gift card from a relative. The expectation will be that I buy something for myself that I can show them so food and pants are ruled out.
Thank you
Aside from food and pants I haven’t really bought anything from M&S (apart from food and pants) in a while so I’m a bit stuck. I have nothing against M&S I just gradually stopped shopping there and now I find the choice a bit overwhelming.

Can anyone recommend any gems? Shoes, accessories or clothes. My usual style is Cos, Arket, Uniqlo, Soke hush. Often oversized. I’m happy to top up and I have already shortlisted the relaxed cashmere jumper.

i had my eye on that jumper too. other things i have liked from there are the jeans, swimming costumers, and leggings, including their sports ones.

if you look at the online site, they are now carrying a variety of other brands that you can use a gift card on (e.g., I used one recently to buy 'Seasalt' stuff, which might not be your style, but I think they have quite a variety of other brands through the website). Also, they have various well-known brands for toiletries, like Aveda or ColorWow, etc.

Their slippers are nice too!

And things like the Christmas gin, which could be a nice thing for yourself that you can show to them, even if it's food/drink category.

As an aside I don't understand being given a voucher but not being free to spend how you like!

I have got some decent loungewear trousers for my WFH days and also could get some nice bedding.

I agree but it’s complicated and I work hard at keeping this particular relationship in a good place.

Thank you for the advice about other brands, I knew about nobodies child and ghost but not the others. I found a jumpsuit by Albaray which is more of a onesie but probably reflects my mood at the moment.

They do some nice skin care , and fragrances as well.

Puppylovetheycallit · 13/12/2021 10:55

I bought some really nice towels when I got an M and S voucher.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 13/12/2021 10:58

I'd spend it in their beauty department rather than on clothes. They stock a good range. Maybe one of the Shay and Blue fragrances.

jay55 · 13/12/2021 10:59

I like their PJs but that probably falls into the pants category.

I've a couple of their cashmere hoodies this year and they're better than the last couple of years. Over budget but would make them half price.

They also have nice aveda and origins sets in if you use either,

AngelonTopoftheTree · 13/12/2021 11:20

Under those restrictions I think I'd buy nice bedding - would that be acceptable?

CrimbleCrumble1 · 13/12/2021 11:21

Towels and bedding are good, is that allowed?
I also like their foot ware.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 13/12/2021 11:22

Footwear.

I bought this in store in the natural colour mix

I understand about “show” gifts, and this fits the bill nicely

AnyFucker · 13/12/2021 11:35

here it is in the natural colourway It’s a nice mix of oatmeal and grey that goes with loads of other stuff in my wardrobe. Very easy to throw on and off, and if like me you overheat in shops etc, not as hot and stifling as a coat
