I am obsessed with coats and just stumbled across this one. Aside from the colour getting dirty I love love it.

It also wouldn't be my daily coat so I'm tempted to go for it - what do you want think?

Opinions on this coat please?

It looks cheaper than it should looking at the brand.

Tillsforthrills · 12/12/2021 21:32

It’s nice and looks warm, colour would be the only concern!

DrNo007 · 12/12/2021 21:36

I will never again buy a white or very light colour coat. Bought a beautiful white wool one once. The first time I wore it, I managed to trap it in the door of my ancient car and not only did the door cut the coat but it also smeared it with black motor oil. The coat was irretrievable so that was that, 300 quid down the drain.

coatilove · 12/12/2021 21:38

@FreeBritnee it's £150 but is made from duck down so should be warm?

They do it in black and blue but those colours are boring and I already have coats in those colours

It's lovely but for me the colour would make it a no

nordica · 12/12/2021 21:42

Nice shape.
Duck down is very cruel though so I wouldn't buy it for that reason.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 12/12/2021 21:45

I’ve coveted that jacket for a long time. I think they have a lilac version I’ve drooled over.

I’d get if, can’t go wrong with Cos!

coatilove · 12/12/2021 21:46

@nordica yes I hear you. It makes me feel a little ok with it as their website says;

  • This padding uses recycled materials to reduce waste and support animal welfare.

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow lovely isn't it. There's no lilac just black and navy on the website

Yes it’s lovely. Just everything about it. The silhouette, the sleeves, and general stylish puffiness of it. And it’s hard to make a puffer stylish!

Great that it has a hood too. So often these things have no hood. What’s the point of no hood in the U.K.?!

coatilove · 12/12/2021 21:55

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow precisely!! And it is also a removable hood too!

I'm sold, just getting it now and if GI subscribe you get 10 percent off so it's reduced to £135!

The colour makes it a yes for me.

You can still wash down coats (but you can't tumble dry them).

TangerineDreams · 13/12/2021 00:07

I have a coat in the same colour (though much, much cheaper. Think it was from Matalan or somewhere similar. Like another poster I have also trapped it in the car door and got motor oil on it but it just came right out with the Vanish soap bar. I am often visiting farm properties, woods and the countryside in general, I drive an old 4X4 and don't take particular care with my looks or clothes but the year old coat is still completely clean and entirely mark free so if you are more professional than I and live in a city or town I can't imagine you could do any worse than I.... and I'll happily dump my coat down anywhere from the car boot and fence posts to tree stumps when out a walk.

IvorCutler · 13/12/2021 12:23

I think it’s lovely. I’ve a coat in a similar colour and I’ve not got it dirty yet, even with 2 children and a dog!

TheCreamCaker · 13/12/2021 13:36

It's impractical (will show up every mark and get dirty quickly) and looks like a duvet with string round the middle. I can't imagine it would look at all flattering on anyone.

AnFiaRuaNua · 15/12/2021 21:24

Did you buy it op?
I have my eye on a white coat too
