Surely cant be alone in finding it annoying when OPs post links to stuff they want an opinion on?!
I dont want to complete Captcha, accept cookies and close pop ups to look at something, just save the photo to your phone and attach!

Yes, I agree! The thread is much easier to read when you can stay on the same page looking at pictures, rather than having to click links all the time.

PickElaine · 12/12/2021 19:04

I like links much better. For a start, if you post a picture on the app you can't see it on the desktop site.

With a link you get more information without having to ask for it. For example for clothes you find out if it comes in another colour or in petite or if it's in stock in your size.

You would be there all day screenshoting a whole house instead of a link.

If you are on a laptop (not sure about ipad) you can press shift, command and number 5 (all at once) to take a cropping of any picture online, unless it is protected like a film streaming.

Same as a screenshot but you can hone in and choose the framing. Very simple and handy. It saves the shot to desktop so you can pop it into a post. Possibly same on ipad..

I can't STAND opening links to stores because of the fucking pop ups, subscription barriers and cookie policy things.

Whilst i am here, hehee, i am going to ask MN to get shut of that dreadful thing the OP posts do when they turn into an intrusive giant pop up on the page and you have to start farting around clicking the screen to get shut of it and read the thread. Whoever thought that would be a good idea?

otterlybonkers · 12/12/2021 19:38

Ah, i never use the MN app. No idea then.

Constance1 · 12/12/2021 19:41

I prefer links much more than having to do a reverse image search if it's something I want to look at - never really had a problem with cookies or captcha. You'd be asking people to put in a lot more effort rather than linking to a product. They would have to screen shot it and then upload it, quite a lot of hassle compared to copying and pasting a link!

Kleptronic · 12/12/2021 19:53

How about a link and a screenshot, then everyone's happy.

Kleptronic · 12/12/2021 19:54

Or is that too much work 🤔

otterlybonkers · 12/12/2021 22:14

too much work! what do you think this is, Santa's grotto ? Grin

agree though a link and pic is great, but if we want more info on a pic, just ask the poster. Saves the thread from looking like a spam sandwich tbh.

Totally get you, however if a poster is asking for advice it should be their hassle to do all that not my hassle to click on a link! 🤷‍♀️

I agree OP. And I’ve noticed some people are using skim links so if you click on it and made a purchase (even 30 days later) the person posting the link will get an affiliate payment.

withiceplease · 12/12/2021 22:29

I agree too
There are some S&B threads I like to browse through and so irritating to have to click on all those links rather than just see pic

goose1964 · 14/12/2021 11:10

I wouldn't have any clue how to do it.
