Boots and how they fit

Been trying on, and returning, boots recently. They all seem to have the same issue with fit. They rub on the top (sort of near the big toe base, on the foot bone, not the toe.

Firstly, is this a common issue? Secondly, will it ease with wear? Thirdly, is there anything I can do to pad the area? Fourthly, what should I be looking for to help the fit?

It’s on one foot only! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks

I think I have awkward feet, and simply cannot order footwear online. I find that Rieker and Pavers footwear are the most comfortable brands for me, and I go to their shops to try footwear on rather than order online.

If you have been trying on leather boots, it’s likely they will be stiff to start with, and soften up with wear.

Ah thanks both for your replies! I’ll take note of those recommendations!

Good luck. I tried on so many pairs of boots in every shop when I was looking for some recently, then found some in the Pavers concession at Boundary Mills.
