What shoes to wear with balloon jeans?

I’ve got these jeans in indigo

which I really like, but have no idea what shoes to wear with them. I’ve been wearing skinny jeans until now which I wear with ankle boots or ballerina flats but the boots just look odd with the balloon jeans and it’s too cold for the ballerina flats!

I have these jeans too. I wore them with vans until it got too cold. I’ve tried them with my docs but I’m not sure about it, it doesn’t look right! I can wear all my other styles of jeans with docs so I feel like it should work!
Anyway, I’ve pretty much put them away for the winter unfortunately.
In theory, I think boots that are slim on the ankle would be your best bet.

I have the same issue!
Have worn mine out with spiky heeled ankle length boots and think it worked well, quite liked the proportions.

Some of my (much cooler) 20-something colleagues have been wearing their wide-leg/ankle-length jeans with patterned socks (long enough cover the ankle gap) and trainers or Doc martens, with a fitted turtle neck or a boxy knitted jumper. She looks amazing! It's not really my style, but think that it could work well for lots of age groups.

I wear them with chunky trainers (e.g. Nike Air force 1) or DM shoes (with lovely wool socks)
