Strange question - gel nails in cold weather….

Realise this is a bit of a specific question. I’m going on holiday to Canada for a winter break (hopefully…Omicron permitting) and usually get gel nails for holidays etc. But last time I had gel nails somewhere cold - in Scandinavia a couple of years ago - I found they chipped and cracked and suspected this was cos of the cold. Has anyone else found this? Are there some brands better or worse than others? Or did I maybe just get unlucky or get a bad manicure? I’d rather just have nothing on my nails than risk having chipped and broken nails!

I think you probably just had a bad manicure?

Incidentally I've found that there is a certain colour of nail varnish that no matter which brand I buy, it chips more than others. Weird.
