Zara and JL festive season 'finds'

Just in case anyone was wondering what to wear for the festive season I got both these recently and very pleasantly surprised:-

The shoes are very nice - they did have others with a larger centre diamante part but sold out now. The shoes are so comfy though and the diamante is just enough glitz for me.

the blouse is very sweet and on trend - can be dressed up or down with various things like a silk long black slit H&M skirt I bought this summer, black or blue jeans (dressed up), black sequin knee length pencil skirt etc. I also tried various things and found it looks best with a black body under it but you could do a nude one, the grey for me is the perfect colour and the metallic polka dots, you could even wear it to a work party with a bodysuit under it as it's semi sheer:-

Oh I like those shoes

Seems unlikely that there would be an advert for 2 vastly different brands in one go. Even if the OP was being paid to promote something I can't see John Lewis and/or Zara being hugely impressed at being lumped in together. It's not like their marketing budgets are under pressure and they have to take what they can get.

Perhaps this is just a genuine poster sharing some Christmas clothes that they're happy with? The constant accusations of advertising on this board get really wearing after a while.

@toolazytothinkofausername - no not an advert - just thought I'd share some finds which look good on a size 12, booby, slightly muffin top body!

For Christmas!

I mean christ if Zara and JL wanna pay me commission for every one sold then they're more than welcome to do so (would prefer donation to Afghan refugees actually...).

Love the blouse!

@AppleBottomedJeans - I was very pleased with them - and the other ones!

What with those and with Matalan's leather biker boots (and other leather shoes) have been very impressed with reasonable shoe offerings lately.

Would never have thought to have chosen JL or Matalan own brand footwear either.

Love the blouse!
@LoveLabradors - see my other comment - took a bit of figuring out which body and shapewear but is very flattering and I'm no way a size 8, skinny minnie!

Can easily see me wearing it next year too and not just Christmas. Zara has some real gems sometimes.

Was going to say I loved the blouse but not a lot of blouses fit that well as I'm 32ff. I'm also a size 12 OP so might order if you say it fitted well. What size did you order?

 Or how about it's just someone who wants to share things they're pleased with that they've bought to wear for events over the festive period? Chatting about things to wear and clothes we like is generally what people do on S&B threads.

@Gonnagetgoing I love the Zara blouse.

BlueFlavour · 09/12/2021 22:58

Both top and shoes are lovely @Gonnagetgoing
Thank you
Might treat myself to the too actually, what size did you get?

nanbread · 10/12/2021 10:55

I bought the top a while back and liked it, but decided the frilly bits on the shoulders didn't do me any favours so sent it back. I have a short body and felt they made it look shorter.

Maxiedog123 · 10/12/2021 10:58

Like the shoes, are they narrow or you wider?

@XiCi - I ordered a medium - I'm a 30G and it fits fine!

@BlueFlavour - medium - as Zara can be hit and miss with sizing. Medium is just right.

@nanbread - ah pity about that - I have a long body so it suits me!

@Maxiedog123 - the shoes are quite narrow yes. My feet are slightly wide but not overly so.

@EllaPaella - quite - what's the use of S&B?!

Everyone posts things here which they like with photos - not on phone so can't upload items on me!

OP posts:
Gonnagetgoing · 10/12/2021 11:52

and @EllaPaella - thanks re the Zara blouse - I searched there and H&M and a few other sites and its terrific value for something I think I will wear more than once (have gone over Sosander etc websites with a fine toothed comb too).
