Ankle boots for interview?

Would a jersey dress with tights and ankle boots be smart enough for a job interview? (It’s an academic support role).

Or should I wear a more traditional look and get a suit and some court shoes? (I’m early 40s and 12/14).

Sounds fine to me, better than the suit. Add a bit of understated jewellery and blow dried hair to smarten it.

The suit and court shoes definition of smart is long gone. A tidy dress and boots is fine. A smart cardigan or jacket over the too if you have one.
