Tanning drops? Any good?

I recently fake tanned for a Christmas lunch at work and realised I really do look so much better with a golden glow.

Not wanting to get into a nighttime routine of fake tanning my face with the mit or the brush I’ve ordered the tan luxe tanning drops.

Anyone used this product?
Does it get on your hands when you’re applying your moisturiser (unfused with the drops)
Any bad reviews or things not to do?

I use tan luxe drops. They are my first foray into fake tan for my very pale face and I find them very easy to use.

I use four drops added to my moisturiser in my hand and then moisturise face thoroughly making sure I use all excess to blend it down into my neck. Then I just rinse my hands I’ve never had an issue with it staining my hands and I have very very occasionally not blended a tiny patch but only I ever notice.
Four drops takes the edge off the paleness for me.

I've tried them all and given up. To me it's a massive faff for a result that lasts one day.

Why can't they bring back actual facial self tan lotion, cream etc? My beloved Clarins bronzing milk has been discontinued, I could cry!

Yeah! Isle of paradise are fab !

I use tan luxe super glow drops, they are self tan drops with hyaluronic acid, for face. I love them! They aren’t ‘wash off’ so last more than one day. You can use more or less depending on the colour you want. I use with super glow for body which I like too. I’ve also used The Body, which is a gradual fake tan from them which is also great.
I often buy from The Beauty Bay as they have lots of offers and sets etc which can be good deals!

Xo

Thanks! Good to know the hand staining isn’t as much of a thing as I’d feared @Chocolatecoatedkettlebell

@sjxoxo I didn’t see that one with the hyaluronic acid that sounds good!

Do you apply the drops + moisturiser on your whole face - eyelids etc - what happens with lips? Sorry for being a total novice!

Another vote for tan luxe!

The instructions say to mix with moisturiser but I just apply moisturiser to my face( then one drop on each cheek and one on my forehead and rub in everywhere e

I use Dior face tanning gel - it gives a nice glow . You are supposed to put fake tan on the outer brow bone below your eyebrows - in other words where the sun would hit it naturally . You don't do lips .

Lovewins · 06/12/2021 20:13

So, I apply lip balm and moisturiser to my eyes and hairline and around my mouth first- basically anywhere I don’t want to be tanned. Then I add one generous drop of tan luxe to a blob of moisturiser, mix it together and rub into my face- mainly the cheeks, forehead and across the nose, sometimes my eye lids too. I’m not exactly pale but I find more than a drop makes me very tanned so maybe start off quite conservatively and up your dosage if you need to. It gives me a believable glow, streak free and only need to do it about once every 3/4 days (If I look in the mirror and think I look a bit pasty it’s usually because I’ve forgotten to do it). Good luck

Thanks @ShirleyPhallus @IamGusFring and @Lovewins for the tips! It should arrive soon - I’m excited to try it Smile

Tan luxe have great products. I’ve used the face and the body drops mixed into moisturiser, and the new ones that you just put on directly from the bottle. Smells like raspberry.

Their products are great. I always wear gloves to apply so not sure about staining potential.

Beachlovingirl · 07/12/2021 18:48

@Elieza I nearly ordered the tanning water spray but thought I should start with something that has more reviews. I think I might try it next though!

I had some very good tanning drops from Superdrug, but unfortunately the stench was unbearable. Avoid those.

hooplahoop · 02/04/2022 21:24

Please excuse a massively ignorant question , but how are tan drops different from using a bronzer - or even a darker foundation? I would love to look less pale

Tan drops are fake tan, so last a few days. Bronzer is just there until it washes off
Orangeslemon · 02/04/2022 23:19

I second the Isle of Paradise tanning drops! I like that they just mix in with whatever moisturiser I’m using. I put them all over my face, including around the eyes but excluding lips. I also put a bit extra across my nose. Remember to rub them into your hairline so you don’t get a line around your head!

Jellycatspyjamas · 03/04/2022 08:43

This may be a silly question but how do you stop your face from going patchy? If my legs go patchy I can reapply or cover them up but I can’t do that with my face which is what puts me off.

It’s some kind of magic but it just doesn’t go patchy in the same way.

I assume it’s because you wash your face more frequently so take off the old skin cells more regularly and evenly than on your legs. My legs can go a bit patchy when it fades but face never does.

DariaMorgendorffer · 03/04/2022 13:40

Isle of paradise, just wash your hands after applying.
