Heated eyelash curlers- do they actually work?

Just wondering really. Reviews are so mixed I have no idea whether they are a gimmick or whether certain makes are better.
Anyone got experience using them?

No experience but wouldn't you get the same effect with an ordinary pair warmed up with a hairdryer? I over curled my lashes once and could feel them on my eyelids every time I blinked.

Doyourememberthetime · 05/12/2021 13:38

I bought one and it didn’t work. Accidentally got it into my eye for a split second!

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/12/2021 13:39

No.

Iamkmackered1979 · 05/12/2021 13:40

I had some and yes they do however they weren’t much better than normal curlers tbh

Mercurial123 · 05/12/2021 14:02

I bought some 10 years ago when they were really popular. My Shu Umera regular kind were better.

Theywalkamongstus · 05/12/2021 14:43

Just give your normal curlers a blast with the hairdryer first to warm them up.

SirChenjins · 05/12/2021 14:46

The wand kind really work for me and they give me a much more natural curl than the ones you squeeze together.

DedalusBloom · 05/12/2021 14:46

Yeah didn't work for me either.

TrickyD · 05/12/2021 16:51

SirChenjins, can you recommend any particular model, please?
I thought electric heated curlers would be a nice extra gift for DGD, but I am baffled by the wide choice and contradictory reviews.

Yes love them. Mine are cheap battery ones I got from my local chemist, but they're great.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 05/12/2021 18:11

I had some that never worked but I think you are supposed to put your mascara on first which I didn't realise at the time (because I'm too cool to read instructions apparently.. ). I'd like to give them another go.

BigButtons · 05/12/2021 18:16

I was wanting to be suckered in by my FB ads.
I can't be doing with the heating up my eyelash curlers. I know myself well enough to know that I would make them too hot and burn my eyelids.
Interesting that you are supposed to put mascara on first.

When I put mascara on first, my lashes stuck to the curler and several were torn out. It was like the heat melted the mascara to the curler. Would never do that again regardless of the recommendations.

I can’t remember which ones mine are, sorry - but I got them on Amazon. Have a look on there for the ones with the highest reviews and they should be OK Smile
SirChenjins · 05/12/2021 19:24

I would get the wand style ones though, tge squeezy ones are not very good imo.
