Hello all

Hoping someone more knowledgeable than me can please help! I have light brown hair and want to colour it darker brown for winter. I love Blair Waldorf hair in gossip girl (who doesn’t!!!!).

I’ve tried a few home colours but I end up either with a red /copper undertone that makes me look washed out or its really dark and almost black.

I have no idea what base tone to get? Cool or warm? if I need a mocha, walnut, chestnut colour? There’s too many options!?

Any advice please??? Thank you

Most box dyes do have reddish undertones as they fade. Try shades with 'ash' or 'cool' in the name. L'oreal Casting has a Cool Brunettes range. Try Iced Mocha or similar.

Try esalon.. they can send you tailor made hair colour. You send them photos of your current hair colour and tell them what you would like it to be. They mix up a colour formula for you and send it over in the post.

I use Garnier Nutrisse Iced Coffee 4.15

It’s a lovely brown with no red tones.
