On the hunt for a full coverage, lightweight, moisturising foundation that's won't emphasise my ageing face

My usual go to foundations that aren't cutting it for me just now
Estée Lauder double wear
Double wear light
Nars sheer glow
Nars natural radiance
Mac studio fix
Bobbi brown skin foundation

You mentioned the ones I was going to say. The L’Oréal infallible foundation is a good drug store option.

Revlon Colorstay

Bareminerals

Do you use concealer as well? sometimes you just need extra coverage in certain areas, when I need a bit more coverage I use YSL all hours foundation stick over my usual foundation, it's more like a concealer texture.

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation is fantastic

Illamasqua beyond foundation

ChequerBoard · 04/12/2021 23:29

The new Lisa Eldridge foundation is just perfection. I used for the first time this week, goes on easily with a large kabuki brush. Gives good, buildable cover -!: stayed on all day. Couldn't feel it was there, just feels like skin.

Tom Ford is perfect

Good suggestions.

I'd forgotten about revlon and it cosmetics. I've used both before could be worth another shot.
I've only used bare minerals once before and I really wasn't keen, looks lovely on other people makes me look like a crusty old sponge.

@samesign I use it all Grin current concealer is a nars one which is ok but could maybe be better or maybe I just expect miracles.

I'll check out the Lisa Eldridge, illamasqua and Tom ford suggestions, they're not brands I've tried before so worth a go

Watching this with interest because I used to use doublewear light but they're discontinuing it, and I never got one with the loreal or Revlon ones. I've been using Mac Studio FX and it's ok, but definitely doesn't have the coverage or longevity of the doublewear. Might try the illamasqua next.

I’ve just bought L’Oreal infallible off the back of a recommendation on another thread. Will be trying it out today for a Christmas party so will report back

LumosSolem · 05/12/2021 12:37

I love L'Oréal true match foundation, I've tried lots of high end foundations in the past but this is the best I have ever used.

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish.

Why I never tried it before, I never know.

It's the one with the hylaronic acid in it. It leaves such a lovely finish.

I had photos taken not so long ago wearing DW, omw I look dreadful. I definitely need the glow at 51.
