Help! Red scabby patch on upper lip following waxing

I have been using the Nair strips with Japanese cherry blossom that are supposed to be "nourishing", but quite a few times I have ended up with patches of red, irritated skin on my upper lip. This lasts a few days, goes a little scabby, and eventually calms down.

Can anyone recommend either strips that don't irritate your skin, or a good post waxing oil or cream that prevents this happening? I currently use a few drops of oil to rub off any remaining wax, and then Elizabeth Arden 8-hour cream.

Today the inevitable patch developed, and instead I applied a bit of cortisone cream , because I have an event this evening and really do not fancy this red patch on my lip. I also have an antibiotic healing cream, if you think that might work better. All advice gratefully received!

TIA.

No tips for top lips specifically, but I used to get this from eyebrow waxing - my waxer calls it "grazing" and for me it is because I am using tret on my face. She recommends Sudocrem which calms it right down. We've started using a different wax which she told me is for "intimate waxing" and it hasn't happened since. I want to say "Lycon wax" but am not sure why that is in my head so might be totally wrong!

Aha! I have just started using tret. It happened before I started, but today's is worse. Really helpful. I'll get some Sudocream asap, thank you. I hope I can get it right down by this evening.
