Does my dress look ok?

It’s just a cheap thing, we’re having a small registry office do with just two witnesses so didn’t want to spend much money on anything.

I will wear a different bra, a push up one and accessorise with silver jewellery.

I had a baby 4 weeks ago and just feel like a disgusting mess.

I had a baby 10 months ago so I know how you feel about feeling everything hasn't gone back to normal. You look stunning and you can't see the bits you are worried about either. I wore a dress recently with a tutu under it and it made me feel so much more confident and it made the dress look better too. You will be a beautiful bride! Congratulations 🥳

TrueGrit54 · 27/11/2021 12:25

I agree the drape is nice and tulle would change the vibe. Yes to sewing up the side and wearing a slip. You will make a beautiful young bride. Trust me when you look back at photos in 20 years you will see how sweet you look.

As an aside I really admire you saving money and going to a registry office. We did the same. I hate overblown weddings.

Long time lurker here. I have joined specifically to say you look wonderful!

Beautiful dress and you certainly do not look like you’ve just had a baby!

Have the most amazing day.

Nearlytheretrees · 27/11/2021 12:27

You look lovely, I didn't look that nice 4 months after having a baby! Congratulations on your baby and wedding

mamaoffourdc · 27/11/2021 12:32

It's perfect - yes to the lift up bra and full tulle skirt! You will look amazing xx

Blackberrybunnet · 27/11/2021 12:45

Looks gorgeous, and with your hair all spiralled you will look just amazing! Do take the half lining out though, and either have it replaced, or wear a long half-slip (if you can find one anywhere - people don't seem to sell them any more, they are v easy to make, though) Congrats!

Christmas1988 · 27/11/2021 12:51

I like it, with a correctly fitted bra and high waisted supportive knickers you’ll look and feel amazing!

Pbbananabagel · 27/11/2021 12:54

You look gorgeous, C section bellies unite! Get a gorgeous pair of big pants and have a truly wonderful day

Erinrose82 · 27/11/2021 12:57

I think you beautiful and romantic. Push up bra like you said and maybe a silver somehow in your hair. Xxx

OGenkiDesuKa · 27/11/2021 13:00

Thank you. My Spanx arrived this morning but I’m not brave enough to try them on yet haha!

You look great, not a disgusting mess at all. Your arms and shoulders look good in that style.

IDontThinkSoNo · 27/11/2021 13:05

Ah you look lovely op. Pretty far from a disgusting mess!

Firstly, you look fantastic four weeks post baby! I barely brushed my hair that first month or so. And the dress is lovely.
FYI I had a small registry office wedding and it was really lovey actually - the office was much nicer than I expected and I had afternoon tea at a local hotel at it was all just really special - I hope yours is too x

freakydeaky · 27/11/2021 13:08

You look beautiful! I love the neckline and the sleeves, it’s a very romantic look. Congratulations on the wedding and your baby, have a wonderful day 😊💐

BlancheB · 27/11/2021 13:08

You look lovely and the dress is gorgeous on you! That's the first off the shoulder wedding dress I've seen that I like actually.

Have a fabulous day and congratulations on both counts Thanks

HelplesslyHoping · 27/11/2021 13:14

You and the dress look beautiful. It's perfect for a small wedding, not too over the top but still a special dress.

Congratulations on your wedding and baby, I hope you have a lovely day x

OGenkiDesuKa · 27/11/2021 13:20

Thank you you’ve all been so kind.

Can you believe the dress is from SHEIN?!

I’m so impressed with it considering it was only 40 quid. I’m going to get my mum to look at sewing up the split but she said it might alter the shape of the dress. If not, I’ll leave the split and get a long slip anyway we it shouldn’t be that noticeable.

I really appreciate everyone’s lovely comments and ideas.

You look beautiful. Lovely dress! Different bra, some accessories - sorted!! Gorgeous.

Congrats on your baby and on your marriage! 😍

amidsummernightsdream · 27/11/2021 13:38

You look really beautiful. The dress is gorgeous!

BungleandGeorge · 27/11/2021 13:45

Definitely don’t put a tulle underskirt underneath it will lost the nice drape. I think replacing with a full length lining would be nice, you don’t have to get rid of the split if you don’t want to a seamstress could fashion a lining around that.
It’s a very pretty dress, I was just going to suggest a different bra but see you’ve already thought of that

IsThePopeCatholic · 27/11/2021 13:55

You look great, and your face is very pretty too! Have a fab day.

EasyLifer · 27/11/2021 14:05

The top of the dress is very pretty so the eye will be drawn to that and your lovely face. Nobody will be looking at the belly area which I am sure isn't as bad as you think! Congratulations and have a lovely day

viques · 27/11/2021 14:05

I think what would look really pretty is some sort of wide ribbon sash, not tied tightly but it would break up the line and emphasise your figure in a pretty regency style way. It also looks quite long on you, what shoes are you wearing , I think you could lose a couple of inches from the hem so your bottom half doesn’t get too swamped in fabric.

I love the lacy sleeves btw , very classy, and think that overall it is a very pretty dress. Congratulations on the wedding, and the baby. And Christmas just around the corner! So much happening all at once Flowers

missbunnyrabbit · 27/11/2021 14:05

I think it looks really lovely, not cheap at all.
