Basic one with facial attachments is down to £199…do I go for it? I pale skin and dark hair. Lazy about shaving to be honest!

I got one this time last year and it's been really good. I was very wary, but wish I'd bought one years ago! Worked well on my face (chin hair...), underarms and legs. I'm pale/freckly with dark hair.

mrsfollowill · 26/11/2021 18:47

Go for it- that's a great price- here is what I posted on a thread about Lumea a few weeks ago to someone who was wondering if it was worth it

Keep going- I got mine August 2020- have dark hair and pale skin. Didn't seem to make much of a difference until 4-5 months in. Underarms responded best /most quickly so now I shave about every 8 weeks (just a few wisps) and give it a blast on no 5.
Tache and beard/neck weekly- shave and then no 5 again. Do your lip 1st before the machine gets hot. Face is still improving - I'm not self conscious any more after 30 odd years of worrying as it's much finer and less noticeable than it has ever been.
Feeling of total smoothness after shaving lasts at least 4 days then couple of days where I can feel the stubble but you can't really see anything. I am peri menopausal and had gone Tom Selleck with the tache-had to Veet every other day and pluck as well. Good luck- it's the best money I ever spent- Hope it works for you.

Love mine! I’m impressed with how it’s worked on my bikini line and underarms

TheWholeWorld · 26/11/2021 18:59

Get one deffo

My neck beard (ugh!) is nearly gone and my bikini line and legs stay smooth for ages now.

Armpits are proving very stubborn but it's had a dramatic effect on the facial hair so for that alone it's worth it.

brittanyfairies · 26/11/2021 19:07

I used mine about 6 times and stopped in March, just realised the other day that o have a couple of patches of hair come through.

Wish I'd bought mine 20 years ago, the money I would have saved. I have very thick dark hair on pale legs (or should I say hadGrin)

Peppercorn9 · 26/11/2021 19:09

Just to say that I bought one in the first lockdown and I'm pretty sure it was responsible for very noticeable freckles/discolouration on my face, as well as little red spots on my arms/legs (it was the only new variable in my routine around the time they suddenly all appeared - I previously never had any marks/freckles, hence blaming the lumea!) Obvs this is just my experience but I thought I'd mention it.

ThisWormHasTurned · 26/11/2021 19:09

Sod it! I’m going to get it! Thanks everyone.

Peppercorn9 · 26/11/2021 19:10

Oh and you need to keep using it long-term - the hair loss isn't permanent (at least it wasn't for me - my armpits were smooth as a baby's bottom for a few weeks but I gave it up and they're now as hairy as ever!)

Grumpyosaurus · 26/11/2021 19:10

Does it work on pale hair? My top lip gets ever furrier...

Sproglette · 26/11/2021 19:11

@ThisWormHasTurned where are you getting it from please? That's the cheapest I have heard of it

napody · 26/11/2021 19:16

Also wanted to ask where from?!

ThisWormHasTurned · 26/11/2021 19:47

Oh it’s on Amazon. The next one up is £259.

OP posts:
wishing3 · 26/11/2021 19:51

Do it! I loved mine but then got lazy and not used for ages. I’m pale with dark hair too.

LateMumma · 26/11/2021 19:52

It's fab, Best Buy ever. It's worked brilliantly on my underarms and bikini, legs too. For me it only really works on dark hair/pale skin, so I still get blonde hairs underarm and it never really worked on my 'tach. Great on the beard though

Indecisivelurcher · 26/11/2021 19:55

I started a thread 2 days ago I think as mine hasn't made a difference yet, but advice was to keep going. Interesting to hear it might take 4-5 months.

Sproglette · 26/11/2021 20:02

@ThisWormHasTurned thank you!

vincettenoir · 26/11/2021 20:03

Yeah I got one last Black Friday. They are worth every penny.

Palosverdesblue · 26/11/2021 20:06

Buy from Phillips if you haven't already done so OP. If you register you get a 10% off voucher which would make it £190 and you get a 100 day return if you don't like it.

I bought one last year but have hardly used it tbh, I must!

ThisWormHasTurned · 26/11/2021 21:36

Palosverdesblue You absolute star! I ordered it on Amazon but I managed to cancel it. Got a 15% discount code so I only paid £178.49! Shock so glad I started this thread!

Palosverdesblue · 26/11/2021 22:01

Fabulous ThisWormHasTurned Grin.

ThisWormHasTurned · 01/12/2021 19:16

It’s arrived! I have plugged it in and registered it straight away (organised Halo ) and just reading the instructions.

OP posts:
ThisWormHasTurned · 16/12/2021 21:58

Ooh, so I’ve only used it twice. I honestly think my regrowth is slower, my legs seem smoother for longer. It also came with a facial trimmer so if I can master that I won’t need to get my eyebrows done by a professional so that’ll save me cash too!

OP posts:
CinnamonJellyBeans · 17/12/2021 07:43

I'm kicking myself for not getting mine years ago. Worth every penny

friedeggandsauce · 17/12/2021 08:18

I've tested mine but not used it properly! There's definitely less stubble in the places I tried it. Just need to find the time to do it now

Allsorts1 · 17/12/2021 08:20

Yes get it. Laser hair removal is insanely expensive in the UK vs other countries. A professional I trust recommended the lumea to me.
