What colour would you buy this coat in?

I want to buy a long down padded coat for winter walks. I had the colour black in mind, with visions of looking effortlessly chic (which I never manage to do 🤣) in the coat plus leggings and trainers and a perfectly impossibly glossy ponytail like all the yummy mummies round these parts (live in west London 🙄).
However I quite like the green/khaki colour too! But alas it’s not as chic or go-with-everything as the black is - is it?! I’m pale with brown hair. Indulge me - which colour would you go for?!

Genuine question: why is it important to you to look like everyone else?

I have no imagination and I like to get my style inspiration from people I see out and about in London parks/cafes. I don’t want to “look like everyone else”, just like a select few women I’ve seen who I deem to be very stylish! All subjective isn’t it

Thanks for sharing! I’ve had a look on the COS website but I can’t see any similar longline puffer jackets - would you mind sharing a link?

I’d go for khaki also. I’m also an autumn, so black is no good for me.

Viviennemary · 25/11/2021 17:04

Not keen on them. Unless you are very slim. Black navy or olive. The grey and fawn ones are hideous. Olive is probably the best.

Depends what colours are in your wardrobe.

My wardrobe is made up of black, blue, beige, and cream. I decided to buy the coat in Navy.

Chocolatecoatedkettlebell · 25/11/2021 17:13

I know 🤣

@Chocolatecoatedkettlebell

I know 🤣
That was meant to be quoting @SmallProvincial

Khaki is lovely.
Black will go with everything.
Light grey will never be clean 🙈

To get the look you’re after o think you have to spend a bit more money. Obviously the uniqlo ones are nice coats but the chic effortless pony tail look tends to come together when you spend a bit more to get the tailoring on the puffa which makes it look more expensive so more Moncler / Mackage / Woolrich etc.

I like this M&S version. It's a bit different - no down - but warm. I have a black version without a hood from a few years ago. It's also a bit stretchy.

But M&S are disappointing me with their (lack of) offers this year - I want 20% at least! So I will wait.

Loubelou14 · 26/11/2021 18:56

Ah i was stalking this coat but read reviews and realised I'm too short for it. I'd go khaki too.

AnnieSnap · 26/11/2021 19:22

Maybe light grey. What you should get very much depends on your own colouring and what colours make you feel good.

mylaptopismylapdog · 26/11/2021 20:40

I have had a navy one for years lost the bag but it packs well and is great light and warm when the weather is cold. Washes well too.

ruffles1 · 26/11/2021 21:05

I have it in khaki. I am 5”2 and it isn’t too long. It goes with everything, is lovely and light and soft and gets lots of compliments. It’s like putting on a hug.

MrsSkylerWhite · 26/11/2021 21:06

Black 15 years ago, navy now (58). Softer

RepentBirthingPersonFucker · 26/11/2021 21:10

I've got the olive one. I was wearing it today. It is so warm and light and doesn't feel bulky in the car

CambsAlways · 26/11/2021 21:13

Sorry op I wouldn’t wear any
