Maternity clothes before maternity clothes…

I’m pregnant with my second and I don’t know if it’s the fact it’s my second or all the bread I’ve been consuming but I have certainly ‘popped’ a lot sooner this time around!

I’ve always had a bit of a belly (despite being fairly slim elsewhere) but there really is no hiding it now and I’m only just into my second trimester 😩.

I can still get into most of my ‘normal’ dresses but I just look…. Big in them. What’s the best thing to do at this awkward stage?! Last pregnancy was in the first lockdown so didn’t have these things to think about, just lived in loungewear! I really don’t want to highlight my stomach at all at this early stage but don’t know how best to hide it without looking frumpy. Am I best to size up in normal clothes? Switch to maternity?! Any suggestions and/or links would be greatly appreciated! I just want to feel semi good about myself

Sorry forgot to add I’m early 30s and 5ft7. Pre pregnancy I was a size 10-12 and looking for outfits for Christmas - meals out/parties etc!

I’m also pregnant with DC2 and have worn lots of stretchy gypsy style dresses, so comfy and grow with you (albeit just get a little shorter at the front!) following for other suggestions though!

Do you find these hide or highlight your bump? I’m so self conscious at the moment and worry I look so much further along than I am!

I was at this awkward stage this time last year. Little one is almost 5 months old now. I lived in some skinny fit maternity jeans, with a belt because they were too big on the waist at this stage but were fine after a few more months. I wore maternity T-shirt's because they didn't look maternity and lasted all way through. And then for smarter occasions I had wrap dresses to adjust for size.
