Retinol/Tretanoin What is everyone using?

Which retinoids is everyone using and where do you get them?

Apologies for using the wrong terminology.

I feel like I'm ready to move on from The Ordinary 1% but know some of the others are a long stronger so looking for suggestions on where to go next.

Tretinoin through skin and me. It's 0.015% but that's still more effective than 1% retinol.
Retinol has to convert to retinoic acid (retin A) to work. Tretinoin already IS retin A.
Hope that helps

Skin and Me. Mine is now 0.06% but I started at a much lower dose. You can ask them to increase the strength and I have always found them to be very helpful.

PaperDoves · 24/11/2021 17:17

I was using the Ordinary 1% and just got my first month of Dermatica. They've started me on 0.015% tretinoin and it will increase slightly each month. Loving it so far.

Wagsandclaws · 24/11/2021 17:33

Dermatica for me too, I'm on month 3.

Tret

From Dermatica

Wouldn't bother with a retinol

LoveLabradors · 24/11/2021 19:29

I’m using up stocks of Airol 0,05 from greek pharmacies. Sadly now discontinued. It was dirt cheap too.

FreddyMercurysCat · 24/11/2021 19:45

Tret from Dermatica - 0.025%, still in my first month and dealing with a bit of flaking on my chin, slugging seems to be helping though

silentpool · 24/11/2021 19:52

Tret 0.025% but increasing to 0.050% on my next order.

RacheyCat · 24/11/2021 22:55

I'm using .1% Tretinoin. My skin tolerates it incredibly well. I got some peeling skin at first so I mixed it in with my moisturizer for a couple of weeks and now I can put it directly on my skin will no ill effects.

DerTrotzkopf · 25/11/2021 09:13

There's a really good article in the Indy comparing Dermatica and Skin and me. Both actually came out pretty well and didn't just offer advice on retinol/tretonin but other skin issues too.

sergeantmajor · 25/11/2021 09:56

I've been using GOW Retistar from Victoria Health (1% retinol) but at 49 I look like a walnut these days and may need something stronger.

Is it worth switching up to Skin & Me, Dermatica, etc? Please tell me if you've traded up and seen a noticeable difference.

PomegranateSeed · 25/11/2021 10:09

I buy tretinoin from All Day Pharmacy. It’s about $20 for three tubes. It takes a few weeks to come but it’s worth it.

There are really good FB groups and lots of good information available.

I started off buying Retirides from Spanish pharmacies but it’s all the same stuff.

Paulas Choice 1%. I alternate between the treatment which is a cream based one and the oil.
