Facials

MistySkiesAfterRain · 22/11/2021 14:37

I'm thinking of booking a facial, I usually have a deep tissue body massage a couple of times a year and thought I might have a facial beforehand.

I've had one before which was Neals Yard products and I loved it.

I'm not really sure what to book. Just a deep cleanse and face massage or something fancier? A particular anti ageing treatment? There is a massage face lift?

What have you had that you loved?

I have a facial with a skin peel, and it makes my skin feel incredible

I like the ones that feel like they're using technology that I couldn't replicate at home.
Anything with light therapy, or microdermabrasion etc
Hydrafacial, environ, million dollar facial.

I love facials that involve quite a lot of facial massage. Sometimes you can get one where they will apply a mask and then massage your head. Those are lovely, too.

I love the relax-ldn facial that's an hour long facial massage. Im all plumped up after Smile

I am a beauty therapist who does facials so the question is what do you want from the facial if its a one off and you arent planning an ongoing course i would opt for an hour long relaxing/spa facial. They should definitely massage scalp or hands when mask is on and facial massage wise ask for what you want. The consultation should ask what is your concerns what would you like to achieve, so for instance if you have sensitive skin i would do a pressure point type massage, if you have puffiness a lymph drainage massage etc.
But please ask/tell the therapist sometimes its like getting blood from a stone to get the info i need to do the best treatment for clients, i would always prefer you tell me straight what you like what you dont like what you need etc.

Ask exactly what it entails.

I have a 1.5 hr facial once a month and it involves a LOT of massage. It makes me feel amazing.

If they slope off while you have a mask on, don’t ever go there. They should be giving you a hand and arm massage or something else during this time.

I have 1.5hr facials but they offer no massage, it feels rather sad, it is tech based and the products do make a difference to my skin. I feel it doesn't relax me though, I hate lying for 20 mins with a mask on my face and no massage.

Ohmygodyesthatsit · 25/11/2021 09:01

A facial can be tech based effective and relaxing, sounds horrible just being left.

Thanks I think I will go for a massage.

I have both once a month but always have my half hr back massage first , then turn over for a fantastic 90 minutes heavenly Dermalogica facial , lots of hands on , old school , great products
Choice while mask is on would be
Feet/ hand and arm / head or shoulder massage
Usually choose feet
Wouldn't be without it
