Would this work with skirts and tights?

Went out today, spent some time outdoors and felt colder than i have in a long time. Im currently in the north west, semi rural, and the temp has taken a sudden dip!

I wore a thick pleat skirt with a merino wool top, scarf, hat and quilted short jacket. Shocked at how the cold cut through my clothing.

Wondered if i ought to invest in a long puffer coat. I have a warm wool coat and a few short jackets and it might be a good addition.

Looking at this, would you say it will work well with midi's and tights/boots? Would prefer it not to be down filled but hey ho. If anyone has tried this, how did it fit?

Were you wearing tights and boots and a vest type layer?
I like a long coat and to be honest never think about whether it will go with the outfit underneath I don’t think it matters what you wear under the coat.
P.s. I love a down coat and I don’t think you can go wrong with the one you’ve linked.

Thanks, i would certainly have appreciated this coat today! I would have a bit of skirt peeping at the bottom but i dont think that looks any odder than cuffed jeans.

Today I wore a merino vest with long sleeves, so with a springtime quilted barbour probably not a good defence against the harsh cold - however recent weather has been so mild i simply didnt think.

a merino vest with long sleeves

Do you mean a jumper?

was an old hiking vest (baselayer), but would qualify as a thin jumper.

Anyone familiar with whether this coat may run large/small?

I got last years version of the cos big puffer also in Re:Down (which is recycled down) it’s very warm and the down stays well distributed unlike my old Uniqlo. I particularly like the fact that the recycled polyester is very matte and shower proof.

I’m usually a 36 in cos but opted for a 38 as I have broad ish shoulders and like a chunky jumper. I’m a 10 in most modern sizing.

Out of interest, why not this one: www.cosstores.com/en_gbp/women/womenswear/coats-and-jackets/coats/product.redown-puffer-coat-black.0996775001.html
I prefer both silhouettes

Ive been looking at both, i think the other is more minimal but i do like the waisted feature.

I havent shopped in Cos for many years but always took a XS, the coats tended to swamp me and reality bore no relation whatsoever to the size chart (size 6 is for a 30"chest and 23"waist..........er, no!).
