Casual work clothes

I need some help please! Starting a new job and the dresscode seems to be quite casual, think jeans/vans/fleeces etc

My issue is that I dont wear jeans- i have never found a comfortable pair to fit me properly and hate the restrictive feeling around my waist for 8+ hours a day

In my previous job I would have worn smock dress/pinafore and poloneck with black tights and heeled ankle boots but just worried this will look a bit to overdressed in my new place

Any suggestions on this impossible task?

Could you wear that outfit but swap the boots for trainers? I feel like footwear really sets the tone of how formal or not an outfit is

Or chunky flat boots? I agree it's the footwear that changes the tone.

This sounds very similar to my work place.

Those who don't wear jeans tend to wear leggings with tunics/smocks and converse/vans or Skechers go walks.

I have these boots but not sure if they were too casual? Would wear with leggings and smock top/dress maybe

Google magic trousers, they can be dressed down with flat, chunky boots or trainers and are really comfortable x
