cloud9 original or touch iron???

my faithful ghds have given up. Had them for 8yrs so cannot complain as I also have a teenager who borrows them so they get a lot of use :)
Looking at new ones and hoping to take advantage of black Friday deals.

Love the look of the Evergreen collection but what is the difference between the touch iron and original. I have thick enough hair but not long enough to use the wide plates ones I think.

So have you got the touch iron or original???
What would you recommend?

I’ve got the original ones which I like. The touch ones just seemed like there was more to go wrong and I was worried they wouldn’t last as long.
I have an ancient pair of wide ghds which are still the best 😁

would you stick with ghds? Mine were great but looking at recent threads here Cloud Nine seems to be more popular and better these days????

anyone? They have lots of special offers right now so deciding between the £139 touch iron and £159 original?

I just bought the touch irons, but they've been hidden away until Christmas so I can't tell you what they're like unfortunately!

I went with cloud 9s as ghds have apparently changed and so now cloud 9s are better. I’ve not tried newer ghds to compare though.
I really like the cloud 9s, I just think the ancient ghds are better. But they are properly old, over 12 years. I think they’re maybe hotter? I believe newer ghds aren’t as hot as older ones. Anyway, my hair stays straighter with the old ghds, but the cloud 9s are still pretty good! None of this helps with your touch v original dilemma though

I bought the touch then sent them back as realised the voltage on them wouldn't have worked in the Caribbean where we visit family.
I swapped them for the originals and love them, for me they were also replacing my ghd's.
I think the touch is a fancy feature and I did worry it could go faulty whereas a switch can't really go wrong.
I'm 3 years in now as I got them in the 2018 black friday sale and they're still going strong. They're amazing on my thick hair.
