What everyday shoes do you wear?

Since the pandemic and lockdowns I’ve found that none of my shoes fit. I think it’s the combination of basically wearing slippers all the time while working from home… and just not being used to ‘normal’ shoes anymore and also maybe a bit of weight gain.. and maybe just.. age?! I literally find all my shoes apart from my Birkenstocks uncomfortable.

With a return to office working looming I need to find some comfortable shoes. I don’t think my two options if my running shoes or my sandals will cut it for much longer!

What are all my fellow 44yo wearing day to day??

Am 40.

I wear slip on Mustang trainers every day. Very comfortable. So comfortable that when I first bought them and realised how comfortable they were I bought two more pairs.

However, it’s getting colder. When the bad weather comes I’ll wear DM Triumphs. Also mad comfy.

When at home Airforce one shadows or Dr Marten Sinclairs
When I ventured into the office I dressed from my feet up and wore patent Dr Marten shoes and cropped trousers.
Cos have a stunning pair of clumpy shoes but I can’t justify them as I have the DMs
I’d probably entertain a block healed boot for work too.

  1. Airforce 1s, GGs (although not every often now) or grenson nanettes.

I haven't been to the office in so long, I have no idea what I'll be wearing when I finally venture back in. Pre pandemic I lived in LK Bennett heels but I suspect they won't be making a comeback. I think the dress code has been relaxed a bit so I might get away with the Karen Millen black leather brogue-style trainers I've had for years that go with almost everything.

I've taken to wearing either a pair of All Saints Franka boots about 90% of the time, or a pair of white leather Puma flatform trainers the other 10%.

My feet got wider in pregnancy and never went back :-( and then I went from mat leave straight into lockdown so didn’t really wear proper shoes for a really long time!! Winter is for fluffy lined DMs, got black Chelsea boots and brown lace up knee high ones which get worn for everything from meals out to tramping across fields. They are silicone coated so nothing sticks to them and they’re really easy to clean. I have some patent kickers Mary Jane style shoes (flat) for work as well but mostly wear my DMs. In summer I tend to wear black or navy toms to work (and pretty much everywhere else too!)

Clarkes trainers, M&S loafers, low ankle boots from White Stuff and Boden and some beautiful red suede brogues from Moshulu.

squashyhat · 20/11/2021 10:34

Oh and Vans or Converse in the summer. I'm 60.

All birds trainers

Crumblinginside · 20/11/2021 12:01

Marks and Spencer low heeled boots (slightly wider fit) suit me and I wear them so much and as comfy as anything else

I tend to wear sketchers but they really do not suit posture etc

notacooldad · 20/11/2021 12:05

Now its winter I'm wearing these most days
