Dry flaky skin under one eye only

I am at the end of my tether! I was using the retinol eye cream by The Inkey List but I started getting dry skin under my right eye. So I switched to a milder eye cream and all was fine but then I started getting the same irritation under my left eye!

I stopped the eye creams altogether and started using coconut oil under my eyes instead, as well as my Bioderma Sensibio moisturiser but the skin is still flaky. It also makes the lines under my left eye far more obvious and I can't use concealer as it looks awful with the dry patch.

I do use Skin + Me 0.05 tretinoin, which has really helped with pigmentation. It has dried my skin out a bit but I never apply it under my eyes, and surely if it was the cause them both eyes would be affected?

I get this sometimes op , lay off the retinol. What I found to work for me was gently buff the flakey skin with a warm wet flannel the apply nivea the one in the blue tub.
I'm usually not a fan of that creme but I this case it's most definitely works and at night put a layer of vasaline on top to trap in the moisture.

Oh good call on the Nivea and it's cheap as chips. I was actually considering using my son's eczema cream as I'm that desperate!

I had similar a few weeks ago. I think mine was due to the change in weather but the nivea sorted it out.

It will be your tretinoin - it will migrate to under your eyes - lay off for a week or so and just moisturise frequently.
Weleda skin food is my go to flakie cure with a layer of avocado oil over the top.

Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread but this describes my eyes or rather, eye, perfectly 😳

Timing seems to be when I started using Verso Super Eye Serum with Retinol 8?

Why is it just one eye ... anyone know? Very odd.

I'm also doing Skin and Me and have recently had my prescription upped very slightly in strength but I've an inkling it's the eye cream.

I look like a leper 😳
