Dress down a LBD

Money’s a bit tight & I can’t afford a new outfit. Going to a Christmas night out- city centre bar type thing, I recon (know) most of the others are wearing cool clothes, balloon jeans etc. I only have some coated skinnies or a dress very similar to this LBD. Leaning toward LBD but need to make it cooler any advice welcome

What are your footwear options?

I’ve got some black open toe shoe boots, some court shoes and some patent ankle boots!

Total unhelpful, but this is the first time I’ve ever hear of balloon jeans. Just googled them and love them.

I wouldn't dress it down. I'd wear whatever shoes you'd usually wear and feel very smug that I was the only person not wearing the most boring garment on the plant , aka jeans.

I wear stuff like that to work with black leather clogs. Would also wear with boots that finish above the hem - not with a spiky heel though - either flat or a chunkier heel.
