Radley bags

Am looking for a leather tote bag in a colour but have limited budget (£150 max). There are quite a few radley bags which come up on John Lewis which fit the bill but in my mind these used to be a bit crap? Was never a fan of the dog tag and they were very stiff and not well made.

Any views? Other options greatly received (especially if they are above budget but likely to have Black Friday deals :))

Ooh I love the little dog tags!

woodhill · 19/11/2021 18:44

I really like them and they e always lasted well

Nidan2Sandan · 19/11/2021 18:56

All my bags are Radley, I LOVE them. I have a cross shoulder bag still going strong after almost 20 years Grin

They are very much NOT COOL but they’re excellent quality. I used one for work (when I had to go in) and it was a superb bag.

Bananaman123 · 19/11/2021 20:18

I have a few and they are good quality. However I'd check coach and fossil, some good deals on at the outlets. Tkmaxx is also worth a look

I had a Radley bag 10 years ago when I thought they were stylish. The stitching came undone and Radley repaired it.

Since then bought wellies and umbrellas. The wellies perished and changed colour after a year - Radley said it was wear and tear and the umbrella handles both went sticky.

I would say the quality of their products has gone downhill.

Why not try Osprey or Coach.

@Florence1960

I'm not sure why the hate here for Radley bags, I've got loads and they are fine. Whereabouts are you, OP?
Me neither, MN seems to be really sniffy about them. They are well made and last ages and are reasonably priced. They're very practical unlike the Mulberry one I have that I've never used !

Just catching up thanks all.

@slipperyeel I am very much NOT COOL so
That doesn't worry me particularly.

I only went to HofF to look at them in the flesh - I saw one I quite liked. I also went to Fossil and they were a bit more 'me' ie less formal and more battered.

I haven't ruled them out and got some good suggestions to check out so thanks all.

I bought this year's Radley picture bag which is a London scene with a car and Christmas tree. I love it so much. It's a handbag, but has a long cross body handle too.
@RoyKentsHairyBack Worth noting if you’re anywhere near an outlet store that Radley do a fantastic Black Friday sale at outlet! My DM and MIL love their bags and the year before last I got current season bags on BF weekend in one of their outlets that were in the Radley shop at full price at £229 each and I got them for £59 and £69!!
Yep.

I bought this bag today at Boundary Mills for £79

RoyKentsHairyBack · 20/11/2021 09:00

Right I've picked. I have given him 3 to pick from but I really want the fossil one and it's half price.

I have gone bag blind - I can't look at any more!

Thanks everyone

I am a notorious Radley fan I’ve probably got £1000 worth or more sat in my cupboard never being used apart from the same to that I swap over for spring summe then autumn winter
Had a baby bag from them for those years and a laptop case that lasted 10 years
I just can’t justify the price of the picture bags anymore I had loads of those too but they keep their value really well so always able to sell them on

I’ve got my eye on a rucksack now they’ve got some lovely ones

msbevvy · 20/11/2021 09:10

I want to the Beano Exhibition at Somerset House yesterday and they have a partnership with Radley. A very bold choice but seemed well made.

I don't understand the MN dislike of them either. However, I don't view handbags as a fashion accessory, but a practical solution to carry stuff around in - on the rare occasion when I need a bag. I bought a bag yesterday because it ticks the right boxes, and I like it.

I got last years picture bag and I love it, but this years is amazing too and really want it! Dont think I can justify two xmas themed radley bags though to my husband Grin
