Silver does tarnish. But some silver cleaner from Amazon and it will shine up instantly

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 17/11/2021 20:13

Did you get it wet somehow? That usually turns silver back.

Try this which is amazing for cutlery, assume it would work for jewellery also

Pandora will send it for a proper clean FOC. Or at least they certainly did pre-pandemic!

Silver goes black when it's not worn, especially if it's in the light, I think.

NiellyNoFive · 17/11/2021 21:28

Did you wear it whilst swimming by any chance.

Pandora sell silver cleaning cloths but you can use any silver cleaner with a cloth or put it in coke

Bicarbonate of soda, silver foil shiny side up and hot water in a bowl will make it sparkly silver again, you will smell sulphur which means it's working!

tillytoodles1 · 17/11/2021 23:17

Don't put it in the dishwasher.

I use a silver cleaning cloth on my jewellry

Erm that's what happens with silver, it gets tarnished. Just the same as being a bit dirty/dusty. You just need to give it a clean with silver cleaner

This ^^ works brilliantly. As long as there is nothing containing any glue or gem stones then this is by far the best method as it cleans intricate areas as well.

I always clean my silver earrings this way.

123tigger · 18/11/2021 08:27

Mine did the same. Silver polish cloth. Looks as new again. You reminded me to clean mine again.

Hoorayhenryyah · 18/11/2021 14:46

If it is sterling silver you could try silvo polish (get it in supermarket, comes in a wee tin) and a polishing cloth. Should bring it up nicely
