Balloon Sleeves

I'm sure this has been done to death, but honestly! They are everywhere. This is one fashion trend I simply cannot wait to go. You can barely get a simple jumper without balloon sleeves, and don't start me on dresses....
Do they suit that many people?

Hate them, I feel massive in them. And hate puffy buts at the shoulder too.

They always make me think of the puffy shirt episode of Seinfeld.

I have larg-ish boobs and love a balloon sleeve. They're really flattering on me.

It's like this every time there is a new shape though, someone comes along and complains it's crap for "everyone". It's never true and the style is never a ubiquitous as the OP suggests. It happened with peplums, then cold shoulder tops, then cropped wideleg jeans, then mom jeans now balloon sleeves. The only two of my list that I like are the latter two, yet I have never found myself short of clothes to like and buy.

Find it hard to get a coat to go over them though.

I love them too, sorry OP! I think they're really flattering. It must be frustrating when there are no other options (I felt the same about low rise jeans for years!)

I think they're pretty but they don't suit me.

I got a jumper the other day that I didn’t realise had ballon sleeves until I put it on. I would never have chosen it as I hate anything faddy and ‘fashionable’ but I’ve had loads of compliments

They suit me buy they're inconvenient. Flappy wafty bits and don't sit well under jackets and jumpers.

They don’t suit me. I do like most of the fashions that are around at the moment though. I love wide and flare trousers, midi dresses and skirts, flat chunky boots, neutrals.

I love a balloon sleeve! Fed up of midi dresses though they’re lovely on other people but make me look like a sister wife.

I don’t like a lot of fabric around the sleeve at the best of times and think it’s uncomfortable putting a coat on over.

I suspect the new range of oversized (yawn) coats with giant wizard sleeves are designed to accommodate this transient, pointless, silhouette distorting replacement for cold shoulder tops.

I've got very broad shoulders - total inverted V shape - and they make me look like a prop forward.

You cant even get away from it at higher end stores at the moment. I like a really slim fit, sleek sleeve, so am back to ebay ..

I love them, and I don’t think it’s a new thing - I was wearing a jumper from &OS yesterday with balloon sleeves which I bought in 2018.

I love them too. I was at my peak fashion awareness in the late 70s early to mid 80s and I think they're imprinted on me.

Yes, under a blazer or coat they just add bulk.
I do have big boobs which is probably the issue. So many high necked big sleeved items. Just don’t work on me.

I came on to say they don’t suit small breasts! Like me. Maybe they are just rubbish for most. I definitely wouldn’t wear them.

I love them! I hate the feeling of tight sleeves so I love the airy flappiness of them. I think they're more slimming on me even though I'm plus sized. I don't want them to ever go away!

Nooo! Sorry OP but I love them. Unlike a previous poster, I think they are really flattering on me with my small boobs and add a bit of contrast. It’s so funny how different we all are!

I know, they’re everywhere atm. I’ve been eying up a ballon-sleeved sweater dress online, but I don’t think I’m brave enough to buy it, just gave a feeling it’ll look hideous on me and be out of fashion by next year…I’m too old for fast fashion.😂
