Trainers like veja but actually comfortable

Hi.
I’ve been listing after white leather trainers for ages and love the veja ones that have the v logo in navy. I tried some on yesterday and they aren’t comfy at all.

I currently wear adidas campus shoes but they’re getting holes and I need a leather or fake leather rather than suede.

Does anyone have a comfy recommendation?

I recently bought some of the Victoria trainers, which are really quite comfortable, and more so than the veja.

Shrimpseyelashes · 15/11/2021 18:08

No help with alternatives but the Vejas do get more comfortable eventually after about two weeks of feeling like your feet are surrounded by shards of glass…

EightToSixer · 15/11/2021 18:57

Oh I like the Victoria ones. I’ll have to pop to schuh and try them on. I do like a squishy sole for walking.
I saw someone with white leather ones with a navy star on the side that looked great but I can’t find any online except M&S which have weird silver toes and slightly brighter colours than I’d like.

This is exactly what I’m looking for! I asked a friend how she could possibly wear Vejas and then she showed me the scars they’d given her!
Two years after buying my AF1s they were still making my feet bleed so I’d really like some comfortable trainers this time.

Sans Matin are really nice and comfy

mintbiscuit · 15/11/2021 19:07

Air and Grace. Soft leather and bouncy insoles

Mominatrix · 15/11/2021 19:15

Addidas Stan Smiths are super comfy. Another alternative is New Balance 327s.

BlackLabRules · 15/11/2021 19:22

Air and Grace are so comfy from the get go.

Daisy03 · 15/11/2021 19:55

Air and grace are fantastic

Alice909 · 15/11/2021 20:03

Veja are comfy once you wear them in, I’m on my third pair

LittleG69 · 15/11/2021 20:12

Air and Grace. I have the vegan ones and I bet the leather ones are even more comfy

nanbread · 15/11/2021 21:26

Seconded
EightToSixer · 15/11/2021 21:31

I’m in love with a air and grace pair. Are they worth the ££ (maybe about 2 x the cost of some adidas ones).

Adidas Supercourt are super comfy. I own 3 pairs now for work as i’m on my feet all day. Not breaking in required (I have really high standards as I’ve had a series of foot surgeries and am obsessed with comfortable fitting shoes!)

ArabeI · 16/11/2021 11:25

Golden Goose might be the star trainers? I've seen a few of those lately (Instagram!)

ArabeI · 16/11/2021 11:27

Though I've just looked the Golden Goose trainers up and they have a hefty price tag.

TedMullins · 16/11/2021 11:32

Yes do New Balance or Saucony, they’re way cooler than vejas too. You might also like some Onitsuka Tiger styles or Adidas gazelle or sleek

jobleaver · 16/11/2021 11:37

Reebok club classic are my most comfortable pair of trainers!

Stan smith were okay but had a slight stiffness, break in phase (nothing compared to Veja)

I own two pair of Veja’s (campo and V12) both really hurt my feet and have left scars. Sad So annoying as they are the priciest trainers I own. The Veja Campo’s are slightly more bearable to wear, but I only wear them when I know I won’t be walking for long. I wore the V12’s once, don’t think I will ever reach for them again

Bluedabbadeedabbydye · 16/11/2021 11:37

I've just got the new balance 327s in moonbeam...they are the comfiest things I've ever worn!

SomethingBeginningWithX · 16/11/2021 11:42

I sold my vejas on eBay because they were were like clumping around wearing bricks.

I have amazing Puma ones that I adore, white leather with a little silver puma on the side, super comfy and £30 from TKMaxx. Not ethical though, I'd love an ethical version.

I've always wanted air and grace but I'm a total cheapskate. Maybe for Christmas!

ArabeI · 16/11/2021 11:45

I have the Veja Esplar trainers. They're a bit rigid still, I suppose, but I don't put them through much wear. The Victoria were instantly comfortable and soft.

Agree about New Balance being comfortable, though I only have the running shoes.

DirtyDancing · 16/11/2021 14:40

Whatever you get spray then with trainer protector first to save them from getting filthy!

Bemoreme21 · 16/11/2021 22:26

New balance 327s

Kikkomam · 16/11/2021 22:30

Stan smiths. Bliss.

nanbread · 18/11/2021 09:42

Question about 327s - are they easy to clean? I'm put off by the suede and fabric. Stan Smiths are all leather so easier to wipe clean.
