Hado Labo Anti Aging Super Hydrator - can I use retinol/retinal alongside this?

Hi,

I bought this as I thought it was just a super strength hyaluronic acid serum to wear under my moisturiser in the day, but it's just arrived and apparently it contains retinol.

I recently purchased the Medik8 Crystal Retinal 1, which I was going to start using at night, alongside Loreal hyaluronic acid night cream. Haven't started this yet.

Is this a Retinol over kill?

The Hada Labo contains retinyl palmitate as opposed to retinol, probably in very small amounts. It's there so they can legally market the product as anti ageing but in reality won't do much in terms of efficacy and is more likely acting as a preservative or antioxidant.

In short, yes you can use both, I'd personally avoid using the HL during the day as there are some concerns of how RP interact with UVA rays but the evidence isn't conclusive.
